As a new cook I do prefer cookbooks with photos

Am a huge fan of Sheila Lukens but this book was a little too beyond usual ingredients for me. Possibly great for serious foodies, but this one had mainly recipes from other people with difficult to find or too expensive rare ingredients.As this was her last cookbook, will keep it but was disappointed.

I wanted to find another copy of this wonderful cookbook so I could add it to a food-themed gift for a friend. I was excited to find it on Amazon! I carefully read the description that it would be a Bargain Book, which might have a sticker from Amazon identifying it as such. Nowhere did it mention that this sticker cannot easily be removed! I tried everything from fingers, tweezers, wet cloth and finally had to resort to Goo Gone and a plastic scraper. Needless to say, many marks resulted as well as the Goo Gone smell, so it was no long acceptable as a gift! This was very disappointing as the book itself didn't even have any marks and looked like new. Amazon, please don't treat us like thieves who would do something bad with these "bargain" books, especially when we still paid a price close to the original list price!

Sheila Lukins was co-writer of my favorite cookbook, "Silver Palate" The recipes in this book are as wonderful in her others.Found out just today that Sheila died last night. Horrible loss for the cooking world

I read about this cookbook in House Beautiful and definitely wanted to purchase it which I did and love it. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to cook and I love the layout of the book.If someone needs the encouragement to cook this is the book to own!!

Great cookbook - especially the meats section. The recipes are original, but use easy to find ingredients. I love it and am very happy with my purchase.

Great easy to follow recipes and her personal notes help in understanding how to fit the meal into your family's schedule. Good book for both beginners and experts.

Trying to get all her books, because when I need something different and really good, she's my go to cook for fast delicious food.

Add this to your coleection. If you love " Silver Palette" this is for you...If you don't know about these books check 'em out. very today although written some time ago...Great ideas and recipes!
