If you are in a situation where you have 24 hours to spend $50 and you are looking for a musical way to do it consider these....
I had never played the bongos before purchasing this item, now I can play the bongos any time my heart desires. Which has been never since I got them. But it is nice to have the option...I have such limited previous bongo experience, that I can't accurately comment on their weight or sound quality relative to other bongos.However, they have a much better build quality than I expected, and even though our son (16 months) isn't interested in them yet, I am confident he will start. He does like to turn them upside down and place balls inside them - so if you are looking for something to do that with, then this is for you!

Perfect for our little guy.
Our gandson loves these. He's very interested in the bottoms as they are hollow -- hes only 14 months. We put things in them and he pulls them out and hides them again. He loves to bang on em when hes in the mood. They are not very "tonal", in other words, do not expect much as in tone. These are a toy! Keep that in mind!
