SEXY, ROMANTIC, & SO DARN CUTE!!!
Title: The Billionaire's Wake-Up-Call GirlAuthor: Annika MartinDesignation: Full-Length Standalone Romantic Comedy(App 300 pages), NO CLiffhanger, HEA #contemporary #cutesyhumor #wackyroleplay #nocheating #notriggers #noviolence #naughtylanguage #explicitsexMy Rating: Five Sinfully Sexy Stars*****I loved, loved, loved The Billionaire's Wake-Up-Call Girl! I'm a huge Annika Martin fan and adore her romantic comedies. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy all her work, including her darker contemporary romance as well as her romantic suspense written by her alter ego Carolyn Crane, but there's just something about her sparkling, sultry prose in her lighter, upbeat storylines that really revs my engine, probably because my favorite component of every book is always the cast of characters, and romantic comedies are generally character-driven, focusing predominantly on the people. An author can present a well thought out plot with an interesting conflict but without an engaging cast of characters, the story will fall flat. And this is where Annika Martin truly shines as a writer. She's not only an exceptionally talented storyteller and skilled wordslinger, but also a genius at creating gruff, growly, hard to get along with, and often unlikeable brutes and turning them into sexy, adorably cute, and irresistibly charming heroes as the story progresses. And handsome billionaire CEO Theo Drummond is no exception! He's soooo swoony! *sigh* But let's not forget her heroines who are always sassy, spunky, intelligent, independent free-spirits with hearts of gold - and formally trained chef, cookie baker extraordinaire, and social media genius Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Cooper aka Operator Seven is delicious perfection! The attraction between Theo and Lizzie is immediate as well as undeniable, and their sexual chemistry is so hot it sizzles. The connection between these two polar opposites literally explodes from the pages and their interaction is beyond entertaining but despite their differences, they complement each other perfectly! I laughed, snickered, snorted, sniffled, and fumed through the entire book but by the end, I was happy, satisfied, and well entertained. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language, adult humor, and dreamy sex. This story was more of a slow, seductive burn but when these two finally do get together, it's explosive! Although there's no violence, there is a well-balanced infusion of drama and angst. No CEOs or malicious department heads were harmed in the writing of this book, though I did want to strangle Lizzie's malicious and very unpleasant supervisor, Sasha. lol... But all jokes aside, The Billionaire's Wake-Up-Call Girl is a fast-paced, easy-to-follow, well-crafted and edited full-length standalone romantic comedy with a clearly defined his and her first-person narrative. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well executed, at times outrageously funny, and flows effortlessly. There's absolutely nothing I didn't love about this book! It does contain a few references to several characters from one of Martin's earlier books, Most Eligible Billionaire, but other than a mention of names, there's no connection between storylines. Will I read this author again! Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Steamy fun
Steamy fun, this low angst, high heat read is another solid rom com from Martin. This is the steamiest billionaire romance I've read yet from the author, wasting no time getting right into the playful, inappropriate phone interactions between this broody boss and his new wake-up-call girl. Yep, you read that right. Our heroine is charged with the task of waking up a moody man every morning, and her particular method of doing so is... unique, lol. What starts as a simple interaction quickly spirals out of control, and it's not long before these total opposites are discovering that they attract in all the best ways. This one stayed a little too surface level and the "temporary" arrangement is never a favorite of mine, but I liked it overall. The story follows Lizzie, a baker who lost her business when an ex scammed her out of money. Now she's working at a temporary job to pay the bills, and her new coworkers are real pieces of work. If she can stick it out until the end of the trial period, she'll earn a hefty bonus - and she needs it. The only problem? Lizzie has been tasked with finding a new wake-up-call service for her temperamental boss. There aren't many wake-up services available as it is - it IS the twenty-first century after all - and apparently her boss can get pretty cranky in the morning. Out of options, Lizzie ends up making the call herself, only things don't go quite as planned. And as the calls continue, it's not long before they're crossing a few lines over the phone. Unfortunately, Lizzie still has to face her boss in the office, and he's got no idea that she's the girl on the other end of the line.I've been reading this series completely out of order, and that has not been an issue at all - they're not connected in any meaningful way. However, every book in this billionaire series is low angst fun with a great combo of heat and heart. This particular one is definitely lust-heavy, with plenty of steam along the way. I actually would've liked a little more conversation, lol. It started out very strong but my connection to the characters had started to decrease by the end. Lizzie is insistent that they keep things casual, though I loved that Theo wanted more. It's certainly a one-of-a-kind storyline, and I loved the unpredictability. I really never knew what would happen next, and that's always fun. Certainly not my favorite in the series, but it was light and easy in the best way.Audio note: The audio was great! Have you ever wanted to hear Jason Clarke have a bunch of phone sex? Voila! His gravelly voice worked perfectly for the many steamy scenes, and my only real complaint is that I wanted more chapters from his perspective. It's dual narration and both narrators did a great job. The runtime (just over 8 hours) was ideal for bingeing in one day, though this is probably not a book you'll want to read at work. Not only are there plenty of steamy scenes that start early on, but you might also let out a giggle or two. The low angst vibe and upbeat audio narration made this such a fun time though.

brilliant
The story is just amazing, so funny and quirky. Such a beautiful characters, just falling and falling for each other. It’s captivating, I love how the little hint in the end of each book gives you an idea whose story is next…

Hilarious and hot romantic comedy at its finest!
Lizzie has a problem. Actually, scratch that, she’s got several. Falling in love with a rich, sexy Manhattanite has resulted in the loss of her business, her home, and gained her some scary new friends armed with guns who she apparently owes money to. Luckily, she’s got a job that promises a hefty bonus if she lasts a month. Unluckily, she’ll lose it unless she can find some poor sucker to wake her Billionaire new boss up every morning at 4.30am.Theo is a rich, sexy Manhattanite, who runs his company with the same touchy-feely care he gives himself - ie none. When he’s woken up with a tirade of upbeat abuse from ‘operator seven’, rather than taking offence, he’s intrigued. Soon these calls are the highlight of his day, and he is desperate to meet the woman on the other end of the line.Lizzie can’t let on who she is, but Theo won’t give up. He’s a man on a mission and Lizzie’s beginning to realise her time is running out. This book is just fabulous. It’s laugh out loud funny, cute, clever, and hot as hell. I snorted so many times I lost count, and had to put aside the essentials of daily life (sleep, food, looking after my kid), just so I could finish it. If you like snarky heroines, brooding men, popcorn, cookies, and baby goats, then you’ll adore this story! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
