HP300s+ Scientific Calculator

I have liked HP calculators since my first one, the 28S, then a 48 and now a 50. I got this to use out in the shop when I don't need all the programmable functions and don't want to put my HP 50 in harm's way. The numbers are big and clear and the keyboard has a slight HP crunch so you know when you've pressed the keys. It shows what you entered on the top line to get the result on the bottom line. Without that, I'm always doing the calculation a second time because I want to be absolutely sure. Some of the entry level HPs have seemed a little cheap to me in recent years but I didn't feel insulted here at all. It's not RPN, but fine for what I use it for. It's a nice basic scientific and I'm very happy with it.

I needed a calculator with scientific calculation capability and did not need full graphics plotting capability. This one caught my eye during research and is doing just what I needed after purchasing.

I bought this product because it has "HP" on it. I collect HP scientific and scientific graphing calculators. Comparing this with other HP models, it is basic and uncomplicated. The display needs younger eyes or magnifying glasses to read the status symbols. It has the look of a Casio calculator, even down to "OFF" as a shifted [AC] (All Clear), rather than a shifted or toggled [ON]. That is a hallmark peculiarity of Casio scientific calculators going back to the late '80s. Aside from those points, and for $15, I find it acceptable and easy to use, and a good fit for middle and high school math where calculators are permitted. It is also acceptable for professionals as a basic tool, though I recommend the HP 35S for professionals if graphing features are not needed.

bought this on a whim to amuse myself. I am fan of RPN and this one is not but I was bored and wanted something I could leave in my car or office or whatever and not get too mad if it gets lost or stolen. I do not like the keys that much and the keys do not register sometimes unless I push them firmly.....other than that, it works fine.

1) The interface is unintuitive. M+ is a button but M- requires a shift. No obvious way to recall memory MR on most calculators is not a button.2) But worse than that… the screen is too dim. Even on max contrast the screen is difficult to see at some light levels.3) But the real killer on this product is that the keys don’t register all the time. You have to really pay attention to what the screen says or you’ll lose numbers. Type 123.5? Make sure you don’t get 125. Easily the worst calculator I’ve ever used.

Es una excelente herramienta, con un menú muy amigable e intuitivo, un manual bien detallado y con ejemplos de las ecuaciones y ejercicios que permite realizar, un fantástico conversor de unidades muy practico, y estas son solo algunas de las muchas virtudes de esta calculadora, físicamente tiene una excelente terminación, sistema anti de-rapante para evitar los deslizamientos, me siento mas que satisfecho con mi compra!!

En la descripción dice q trae una celda solar, pero q necesita batería la cual está incluida y en mi paquete no la trae..El plástico de la calculadora se ve frágilTramitaré la devolución

It's a good calculator, but the buttons are too high and needs are solid press to register. This means that sometimes you have to retype the same again; happens especially when you hold it in your hands as opposed lying flat on a table. The screen also, isn't of the highest quality, but it's decent. I will restate that this is a good calculator, it just isn't as nicely build as i ought to be.
