Big high quality sound from compact center channel speaker.
This was the physically smallest 2-way center channel speaker I could find for my 5.1 surround sound system that still had great reviews and modest price. This BIC speaker performs very well, sounds nice and clear and does not sound like it is "coloring" the sound any. Vocals and mid range are more defined when watching encoded moves and don't get lost in the explosions and music in the movie sound track. When compared to the other speakers in my "mid grade" system it fits in seamlessly. I'm using this speaker with four custom modified Sony SS-B1000 5-1/4-Inch 2-way Bookshelf Speakers  for main and surround, and a BIC America F12 12-Inch 475-Watt Front Firing Powered Subwoofer . All moderately priced speakers that when combined produce an awesome 5.1 system that does not need the receiver's equalizer to adjust for speaker flaws or coloration. I run the system "flat" and even my audiophile 22 year old son is impressed. He told me what amazes (and annoys) him the most is how "high end" the system sounds and its running flat. His system costs more, is equilized every which way, and does not sound as good as mine does.It really does its job well. I am very pleasantly surprised and have no complaints.... Oh, wait, I do have one complaint: the speaker grill is darn hard to get off. Even after talking to a Technician at BIC (yeah, I called them up!), I still can't get it off, even with the included tool. Its on there! LOL! BTW, the speaker is rather heavy for its size, so if mounting above the screen, be sure to use a sturdy mount.

Decent inexpensive speaker
Let me first start by saying that this is by no means a top-notch speaker. The sound isn't nearly as crisp as more expensive units and it does occasionally sound a little tinny. All that being said, this is a great speaker for the price. The speaker is substantial and while it does take up some space, it's not going to get knocked around if something brushes against it. It performs well, even at elevated volumes, though it's not going to melt your face, either. This is an excellent deal - a no-frills center speaker that works well in a small room or apartment setting for less than $50 is great. If you have a "home theater in a box" and are looking to slowly replace components, this is a great place to start.

Terrific Replacement & Upgrade of a Speaker
I must say this speaker is pure quality. I used this speaker to replace my center channel in my Logitech Z5500 set up. I am really impressed as this really turns out to be an upgrade. I say this not just because now I have another 3.5 inch woofer in my center channel but the sound quality just seems to keep getting better. This center channel produces a very well balanced mid range and vocals, which results in a very balanced sound. The high frequency clarity and mild bass produces quite a wide sound stage as well. I set a Dolby Pro Logic II 'movie' setting on my speakers which pushes all high frequency and some surround imaging all to this center channel and even at a high volume, it has non-directional room filling dialogue. And like I said, the more I play them and break this speaker in, the more happy I am about this really cheap but awesome speaker. As others have mentioned; BIC makes a good speaker, the magnets are very heavy which means it can handle alot of power. The speaker wire connects are spring clips, which I personally do not like, but the holes are large for thicker guage wire and the spring is very stiff so I can't complain. The case while plastic is the hardest thickest plastic you can probably make, so the build quality is very solid. The look, feel, and sound is very similar to the Cambridge Soundworks MC300s I used to have, this is a good thing. The grill does not come off, which is great if you have little ones like I do that pull them off all the time. I wish BIC made a similar (looking) satellite speaker as I would replace the remaining four speakers. Sound quality is great for this caliber of speaker. Obviously the price is the best part, wow what a deal for a great speaker.

Don't be deceived by its tiny size & cheap price...this center channel packs a punch!
My current entertainment center set up has a cabinet with shelves not quite wide enough to fit most center channel speakers, and I'm not a fan of drilling stands into the ceiling or wall in case I want to move things around in the future. I have a 40" flat screen, and this BIC center channel fits perfectly right in front of the TV (the top lines up with the very bottom of my screen). Despite its tiny size, the specs are decent for a center channel (75 hz - 20 khz). When setting this up on my receiver with an 80 hz crossover, the sound coming from this speaker is surprisingly good. Vocals (mostly what I need from a center channel) are clear & crisp. Music/sound effects also sound just as good as from most significanly larger speakers. Due to its tiny size being dwarfed by my Polk TSI 400 fronts, I adjusted the volume setting up for the center to help it blend and keep the vocals separate and easy to hear. All of this for $40. No brainer for me. Eventually when I get a more flexible/larger entertainment stand, I'll upgrade to a larger Polk center channel (I also have Polk T15s as rears, and am considering a Polk PSW 505 sub). But until then, this is more than sufficient for a stop-gap.Very good center channel speaker. Inch for inch & dollar for dollar, could be the best one out there!

Not for CW amateur radio
Great music speakerNot good at all for CW (Morse Code) on amateur radio. CW sounds mushy and muted.

A good center speaker on a budget!
Wanted to add a AVR and 3:1 sound to ouir Vizio 65" 4K TV. Already had the Denon AVR and a beautiful set of older B&K DM10's bookshelf speakers. So, I bought this BIC for the center channel speaker. It does a nice job. Gives a nice broad center stage, is clean sounding, and complement the DM10's quite nicely. It's relatively small, but that is really what I needed for this set-up. You won't mistake this for a $300 NHT center speaker. But, for this job, it's doing exactly what I wanted it to do.I would recommend this for someone looking for a nice center spaeker on a budget.

Big one in small package!
I had Polk Audio CSI A4 and another one from Onkyo. I sold both of them just because CSI A4 is quite big in size, occupying a lot of space and Onkyo has a full range single driver. And let me tell you, driver sizes are not mattered much for a small to medium size room. If you have a dedicated theatre room with full acoustic treatment go for the higher one, obviously if you have such you don't have the budget issue :DHowever, bigger is not always better. This Center from BIC is just mindblowing. A small one with clean vocal production capabilities.Don't be fooled by its size, I thought before buying but it's very much good. Two 3.5" drivers and less than an inch twitter. up to 120watts is just great!!Built quality is grainy matte plastic, heavy for its size. Quite good though. Grill perhaps is non-removable, the one shown in pic is just to depict the drivers it occupied with.Let me tell you the vocal production is very good and it is justifying it as a centre speaker in your home theatre. The best part is its small form factor that saves your space.Has clip bindings and not for the banana plug, not a big deal.PS: if you quote it negatively because it is not giving you musicality, so please learn it first, it is dedicated to the centre channel in multi-channel home cinema and not for the stereo setup in your integrated amps :) cool?Buy a pair of bookshelf for music listening.

Impressive centre speaker for surround sound system
Glad that I bought this for our television/entertainment centre. It produces sound that is loud and clear whether listening to music or a television show. No complaints...a very nice speaker that is small but solid.
