Excellent Customer Service ffom Scotts Product
American LawnMowet sold my string trimmer with their brand name. The unit operates very well and is well made. I had one minor problem with the string spool device and the company corrected the problem in three days. 100% customer service. Thank you.

Difficult to find wound spools of 0.065 string as required for this trimmer.
I've had mine for a year and my only 2 complaints are that the motor mounted on the string head makes it a bit heavy, and I had a very difficult time locating wound spools with 0.065 line as stated in the instructions. Most of them were 0.080 line, but the instructions empathized use only 0.065. Finally, I found a Homelite electric trimmer that looked identical to Scotts. I ordered the Homelite spools with 0.065 line and they work perfectly in my Scotts trimer. I ordered them at Amazon , they are AC41RLe Autofeed Dual Replacement Trimmer Spool Line 0.65" 27FT for Homelite Electric Weed Eater String Trimmer.

Not thrilled with the self feed.
Does what it should but it is a bit of a pain in the neck to re-spool unless you're buying pre-wound cartridges.

Moar Power!!!
OK, Tim Taylor jokes aside, I replaced an anemic $20 string trimmer that was a decade old so more power was pretty easy. This trimmer has a whole lot of power and works well even on a 100 foot 14 gauge extension cord. As noted by others, there is no bump feed, the string feeds out somewhat randomly but it is effective. As long as I'm not doing really woody weeds or trying to trim the brick path, the rate seems to be fine. When it's too slow I just stop and feed manually as needed. It's easy to feel that there isn't enough string out and so far it's never seemed to feed too fast. I'm noting a lot of reviews complaining about the length, I'm 6'4" tall and yes longer would be nice but it is as good as any other string trimmer at my local store.

Cuts grass and light to heavy weeds. Bad handle. Bad string.
I just edged half my house with this trimmer, but it shot out its string before I could finish. It's not a huge house, this thing either shipped with way too little line, or eats it like a maniac. Not sure which.Power is great. The handle is awkward AF, I skip it and hold the machine just below the handle, which is also awkward but feels more secure. It gets the job done, and maybe that's all I get for $40, but order more string if you intend to use it day 1.
