helped smooth my old scar
absorbs well into the skin and immediately begins to sting if put on an open wound but subsides after about 5 minutes. I used this on my old scar for about 3 months and my old scar has become less noticeable.

This works so well!
I purchased after reading multiple reviews thinking I have sensitive skin & maybe it would break me out but it didn’t. I did a patch test here & there around my head & neck and no bad reaction. Sometimes it does tingle but not bad. I apply it twice daily letting it dry & following with a moisturizer. It certainly has worked for me in a few ways. It has tightened up my skin & lessened the broken capillaries on my cheeks, it’s helped with some skin thickening that I was getting, keratitis (ugly) around my under eye area, nose & on my forehead. When I applied it to my upper lip area in a place of frequent previous precancerous spots it brought some points to a head healing over quickly. I have spent much time in the sun so I’ve been a frequent flyer at the dermatologists office where they meet me in the room with a scalpel for biopsies & a nitrous canister. I’m hoping for a good check up next time & heartily recommend giving this cream a try.

A powerful cream -- use with caution
I read in several articles claiming that zinc sulfate (topical cream) is helpful for clearing sun-damaged skin and even precancerous lesions. With that in mind, I started using this regularly on areas where I had accumulated sun damage. It has been particularly helpful for damaged skin on my forehead, where I also get yeast rashes. Both have been clearing up very well after using this for a few weeks.I also use it on the backs of my hands -- very effective there too for clearing age spots and damaged areas. However -- I also started using it on my upper chest, near my neck, with less than good results. My skin broke out and developed a sensitivity rash within a couple of days after starting it there. It was possibly too harsh for the neck area -- or I wonder if there was some kind of "purging" effect. My skin on the upper chest and neck became suddenly dry and grainy -- and I developed a few deep, cystic lesions/blemishes in the areas where I had applied the cream -- which, again, could have been my skin trying to purge bacteria or damage? I have no idea, but I ended up at the dermatologist to help heal the painful flare-up.Long and short -- the cream does work if you apply it very carefully in small areas. Be cautious with it, and do a skin patch test if you have sensitive skin.

Works great on some skin issues — and ear/nose/throat infections
This is the only zinc *sulfate* cream on the market. (If there's another, I've never seen it.) Other zinc creams are zinc oxide, which is quite different. Zinc sulfate will penetrate the skin and be absorbed into the body, while zinc oxide won't.There is anecdotal evidence that this cream is effective on plane warts, cold sores, and fungus*. The manufacturer makes no such claims, however. It's a lot like lysine once was...people knew about it, but it took time for the word to spread.Note that since this is absorbed into the body, you must be careful not to overdose on zinc. I used it on my lips a few times a week for a month, and have had no cold sore outbreaks in well over 5 years—not even a tingle.* The trouble with using medications on fungus is that there are countless varieties. That's why there are numerous different anti-fungal creams, sprays, medications, etc. What works on one infection won't necessarily work on another. Also, fungus is a bit like bacteria, in that it can mutate quickly. So you need to keep using the medication after your symptoms are gone. Otherwise you risk getting a resistant fungus which can no longer be controlled by that particular medication.***This is only my personal opinion, as I am not a medical professional.***<<<UPDATE>>>I've discovered this cream is also effective at treating the early stage of a head cold/sinus/ear/nose/throat infection. It has twice worked on me, so I now feel certain this isn't coincidental. I applied it to wherever it hurt on my head and neck. Also around my ears. (It hurt there, too.) In under an hour the feeling in my head began to subside. It seems impossible I know, but what do you have to lose by trying it for yourself?

damaged
After many years of using Kirkman products as recommended by Autism Research Institute, I purchased this cream. It arrived packed well but the item itself had what looked like a resealed outside seal and a completely broken inside seal as well as loss of contents. This has not been my experience with Kirkman in the past. Kirkman contacted seller and assured me that the lot and date number on the product indicated a safe item. Have decided I will not use a product that appears to have been tampered with even though there is no recourse for replacement! Will not order from this vendor again.

Doesn’t seem to work the same
I bought this in 2022 and again recently. I used to be able to apply this cream to areas of concern on my body and I’d feel a tingle/burn and the issue would resolve pretty quickly. This isn’t the case with this late 2024 purchase. I’m wondering what has changed. This cream is too expensive to not be working the same/resolving issues (like it used to).
