The first one of these would stop working for no apparent reason and eventually wouldn't work at all, so I started a long and disproportionately difficult conversation with the seller to get a resolution. Eventually she sent a replacement but getting this took far too much effort considering it was for a silly £6 toy. The replacement unit also stops without reason, even in full sunlight. Both units when running make a very loud ticking/clunk noise as the arm reaches the end of the swing and the mechanism inside hits the inner wall of the cat.Since the first one was dead I thought i'd have a look to see why it would stop working spontaneously. The answer... a shockingly poor design. The arm is pivoted on a plastic bar that runs across the middle of the cat. This pivot 'bar' sits on a two flat bars which are horizontal to the cat, not a bearing. These bars are wide and unconstrained and allow the pivot bar to move out of alignment by 15 degrees at which point the arm can no longer pivot and effectively jams itself. to get it to work again you have to move the arm back to its true 90 degree position. Understandably with a mechanism which is weighted on one side it naturally goes out of true every 15 minutes or so.Fundamentally then, when it is working it is irritating because of the clunk clunk clunk as the inner pendulum hits the inside of the cat, and 2 out of 2 stop working randomly because of poor design, and one out of 2 has stopped all together.Don't waste your money, it may be a cute cat, but it is designed poorly and will just become landfill.

Bought for my wife, and she loves it! I was worried when I saw that it was solar powered, thinking that it might limit the places it could stand, but I needn't have worried - it needs very little light to get the arm waving.

Bought for my husband and at first we thought it was broken, but once we put it in an area that gets sunlight it works brilliantly.
