NuTone 89852000 Ceiling Heater Grille

I recently bought a property with a very old NuTone ceiling fan/heater in the bathroom. The grill was discolored, broken and missing the cover over the bulb. Although the numbers didn’t cross reference at all, the size matched and so I ordered this. NuTone seems to have used the same basic design for a long time as this fit right into place and makes the assembly look new. (And I avoided a trip into the attic to install a new light/heater)

This replaced my old cover perfectly! Love the new look without having to replace the whole unit. Just be sure to look at how it goes together before disassembling and removing the old cover. I installed the new cover, but someone else had removed the old cover. Otherwise, it may become an IQ test....

It fit. Was expensive.

I just installed this. Before ordering it I confirmed that my model number was listed in the description. The cover is slightly larger than the one it replaced, but it fit the bulb holder (reflector) and it mated perfectly.My wife and I are really happy that we could replace the yellowed original with this pristine, white plastic grill and matching lens. The old lens had not only yellowed, it had grown brittle and did not fit in the old grille very well. So, it fell out and shattered on the bathroom floor. At first, I thought I would have to buy a whole new fan because none of the lens covers I found were the correct size for the old grille. Then, I realized that I could replace the entire grille and not have to worry about the lens not fitting. That proved to be the way to go, it was worth the extra money to not have to remove the old box and rework the opening and the vent pipe for a new fan.

It does what it's made to do, and that's good.
