Plant will be shipped soilless with roots wrapped in wet media during it's dormancy November to April. After it break it's dormancy (April-May) - it will be potted in soil and will be shipped in small plastic container with soil. Plant is 1-2 year old. Also called Buckeye or Conker Tree. This deciduous broadleaf tree has a domed crown with stout branches. Grows to a height of 50 to 75 feet, with a spread of 40 to 70 feet. Foliage consists of palmately compound leaflets 4 to 10 inches long, 2 to 5 inches wide. It makes a fine specimen because of the upright flowers which bloom in mid May and its massive rounded form at maturity. Each flower develops into a glossy red-brown conker with a whitish scar at the base, inside a spiky green husk. Nuts ripen in September-October, which fall in autumn. Deer and other mammals relish the conkers. Plant in moist, rich, well drained soil; full sun or light shade. Long lived, can live up to 300 years. This tree is valued as an ornamental and street tree. Choose a planting site with plenty of area to grow such as parks, golf courses, arboretums and commercial grounds. Horsechestnuts Are Not Edible.
