This is a real review by a real customer
I am not sure how natural these bamboo socks are, as the description says viscose from bamboo, but they feel like my mums expensive bamboo socks and I know for a fact she will have got the real deal lol. I can also say that my partner tried to buy his own bamboo socks after squeezing his feet into these one day and he came a right cropper after buying a bumper 12-pack of limp, saggy, half see-through, very highly rated 'rainbow' (Black) socks from another Amazon seller. The rainbow socks are truly awful and feel like limp balloons when they come out of the washing machine. He's gone to work and I've gathered them all up and chucked them in the bin so that's my warning, there are some bamboo socks on here with mega good reviews that are just garbage. HOWEVER!I'm back on here buying him 9 pairs of these as a surprise and another 6 for myself. They are so soft, wash very well, have very little toe seam, are thick enough to line your shoe and absorb sweat but nowhere near as thick as a sports sock which is nice if you have those sock-like / fabric top trainers because sweat just wicks and evaporates away. I love the feel of them when I'm putting them on and find them silky soft & breathable enough for gym or all-day wear. I wear them with trainers or my work ankle boots and they come up just over my ankle by about 3-4 inches which is perfect for me, and they have elasticated tops. They are very black. I have had my first lot of these for about 5 months, no signs of thinning, slight bobbling per pic but these are no strangers to a 60 degree cotton wash lol so not bad. I recommend these socks.PS the writing on the socks is white, I chucked mine in with the monthly black Dylon work jeans wash so that's how the writing reacts to clothing dye, in case you were wondering! This is an unbiased and un-paid-for review by a real Amazon customer so please hit helpful if you'd like me to review more stuff and help combat these scumbags paying for stars and reviews for guff products!

Very comfortable, good quality
I am amazed at some of the negative reviews of these socks, as I really like them, and find they are very good quality. For just under £2 per pair, I think the quality is excellent, as I don't find that £2 per pair is any way expensive. It is true that the elastic top is not tight, as these are comfort socks, and for me, this is really good, as my legs tend to swell up if I'm on my feet a lot, and tight elastic leaves deep ridges in my legs. But although these are very comfortable to wear, they still stay up well, I find, I have had no problems with them falling down at all. The top is elasticated, so these are not non-elastic socks, but it's less tight than normal, and the elastic is wider than the normal narrow strip, which also makes it more comfortable. The toe seams are very smooth, too, you can barely feel it is there. They are ankle socks, and come up a standard height for ankle socks. They are very generously sized - I bought the smaller size, which is supposed to be 2.5 (who has size 2.5 anyway?) - 5, and am a size 5, and while they're fine for me to wear, they are slightly generous in size, although I wouldn't actually say they're too big: they're just not fully stretched out: when putting them on, I have to be careful that I don't stretch them out too far, otherwise, the heel won't sit in the right place. They are about the same size as some other socks I bought that were labelled for sizes 4 - 8, and I think they'd be too large for anyone smaller than a size 4, and would probably be borderline too large for size 4. Having washed these now, I want to add that they shrunk a bit in the wash, and now fit me just right, although I washed them at 60 degrees, whereas the label said to wash at 40 degrees, so imagine that might make a difference - if you've got larger feet than size 5, would definitely not wash them hotter than recommended - for me, it's good they shrunk a bit. Otherwise, they've washed well, retained their shape and colour well, as I find bamboo socks do. They're made from 75% viskose (from bamboo), 20% polyamide and 5% elastane, and I find they are of normal thickness for socks - again, don't understand the reviews complaining that they're thick or warm, or don't absorb sweat... I think these socks would be perfectly ok for wearing under trainers - they're not especially thin, though, but also not especially thick. You can get very thin bamboo socks, but these are of normal thickness like cotton-mix socks would be. I think partly the negative reviews are due to unrealistic expectations of what bamboo fibre socks will do or not do. I notice they're described as breathable - I wouldn't say bamboo is any more "breathable" than any other sock fibres myself. Bamboo is supposed to have slight antibacterial properties, that doesn't mean they absorb sweat any better than other socks, though, or that they're necessarily any cooler to wear than normal cotton-mix socks. I like bamboo socks because the material feels really nice and smooth, and because bamboo is a greener alternative to cotton. The antibacterial properties of bamboo fibres probably get lost by the time it's been processed into fibres, from what I've read, anyway, so that's a bit of a gimmick, I think. But bamboo is really nice and smooth, and wears and washes better than cotton, in my experience. I've similar socks that I bought at the same time as 100% cotton and cotton-polyester mix socks, and the bamboo fibre socks are far less faded and worn, compared to both the 100% cotton and the cotton-mix socks. They still feel nice and smooth and still look nice after loads of wears and washes. I am very happy with these socks and would definitely recommend them. Have attached some photos - the colour has come out a bit weird, as I used flash, so they don't actually look grey or whitish, they're a really deep black (bamboo socks also tend to be a deeper black colour than cotton or cotton mix socks).

Okay
Soft & comfortable material. Not too thick. Feet don't get too hot.On the flip side I wouldn't buy these again as I have a small foot - UK 4 - and my foot doesn't quite sit in the heel as they are a bit too big. They are also loose around my foot and toe because of the bigger sizing. I was also looking for sock tops that don't sit tightly on the calf and whilst these are a little better than the ones I have they are still too tight (and my calves aren't large). I turn the tops down to the ankle but it means I am disappointed with the socks as the honeycomb top claims not to sit tightly. Although the toe seam is low profile and better than most socks I have it isn't completely flat - I'm particularly sensitive to this sort of thing and I've been reasonably okay with the seam but had hoped it would be flatter. The underside of the socks has the brand name knitted into the fabric - this looked printed on in the picture. As my feet are very sensitive to even slight bumps and threads I will have to wear the socks inside out. I have to do this with a lot of socks and had hoped this wouldn't be the case with these. If your feet are bigger than mine and if you aren't extremely sensitive to seams and logos etc. then these socks would work better than they do for me.

Foot too long but ankle too tight - had to return item
Not sure if I should mark this as too large or too small. I bought the size 6- 8 I am a fairly wide 6 but this was much too long. Big floppy bit hanging off my toe and I was unable to pull it further up my calf because the cuff is too tight even at the narrowest bit of the ankle and I don't have fat ankles. I would have donated them to my husband as the foot length matches his socks well (size 8) but the ankle would have been muchtoo tight, (He didn't fancy the pink pair either!) Such a shame as the fabric is lovely and I am sure would be very cool to wear.
