As A Butterfly: Turner Syndrome Survival Guide

Disappointing
My 7 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with Turner Syndrome. In my search for information regarding TS, I came across As a Butterfly: Turner Syndrome Survival Guide. I was hoping for an enlightening read that would educate both my daughter and me about the impacts and of growing up with Turner Syndrome and advice for dealing with those. Overall, this was a disappointing read. While the author generously shares her personal experience, there is a large amount of medical information and several statistics presented as fact, yet there is not a single reference. There are a few interesting tips sprinkled throughout, but for the most part I felt like the author was projecting the specifics of of her condition onto others and putting too many assumptions into her advice. As the effects and presentation of TS are different in each individual, I don't think much of the advice will be useful across the board.Further, this booklet is a scant 24 pages, with a lot of blank space. Two pages have only one line of text. With as little information about Turner Syndrome as there is online, I feel that the vast majority of what is in this booklet is readily available with a basic search.I really wanted to like this booklet. The author is likeable. She is sincere, vibrant and caring and the kind of friend I, and probably any other parent, especially that of a girl with TS, would want my daughter to have in real life. But, I didn't enjoy reading it and it most certainly doesn't live up to its title of Survival Guide.

very informative
It was a easy read and very informative. It gives a different perceptive from the eyes of a turner's girl.
