Pale Folklore

I first heard Agalloch when I ran across their CD/Album 'the Mantle' (Awesome!) So, I then I listened to one of their other earlier CD/Alums 'Pale Folklore'. Is is Also VERY COOL!! It reminds me almost of DIMMU BORGIR's 'For Al Tid' not exactly the same at all, but it is equally brilliant. Highly recommended for fans of super cool Gothic/Atmospheric/Black metal.

Awesome Melodic DarkWave Folk Goth METAL... That's the best way to describe it.. You can chill out and still get your metal groove. Like "OPETH" 'My Arms, Your Hearse' and "DEATH IN JUNE" BUT DIFFERENT... The Female back-up vocals are annoying but it's only on two tracks. A good album to add to your library if your an AGALLOCH fan..** The Digi-Pak Re-Issue is very nice since I no longer have the original BUT I HATE "DIGI-PAKS"..!!.. They are cheap. They dont last. Cant be replaced like a Plastic Jewel Case AND They don't fit evenly with other CD's and are a pain to get to without damaging the corners.. Oh'.!!. And Booklets/Inserts Fall Out.!!..

Just what I had been looking for in a world overrun with terrible metal core music. This is the real deal. Fan's of music that has real integrity should look into this album, Not a cookie cutter album heavily dependent on breakdowns to bridge riffs together. Great song writing and awesome atmosphere. A real epic indeed.

I'm so glad I was able to get this album on CD now that this amazing band has ceased to write, record and perform together. This is a must have even if, as I was, late in discovering Agalloch.

Leider geht die Wertung ja nur bis zu 5 Sternen, aber das reicht für dieses Album im Kontext des Gesamtwerkes aber nicht aus.Ich liebe Agalloch und höre eigentlich alle Alben immer wieder gern und vertieft an. Es gibt aber keines, das mich derart gepackt hat, wie dieses. Die Tiefe und Intensität vieler Stücke ist unsagbar gut.Ich bin immer noch traurig, dass man derartiges wohl nie wieder [von dieser Band/Musikern] wird erleben dürfen.
