I gave this a 4 because I ordered the wrong water filter based on a card that sears had sent me in the mail, asking to be in a water club. I had bought a fridge from them so I figured that it was the right filter. Well that what happens when you don't look. I give it 4 because the shipping was fast and I had no problem receiving the product. It was also packaged nice. I will be looking to ship it back and hope that I can exchange them for the correct water filters. I would have given him a 5 star if I could have only tasted some water that ran through it. I will leave a post soon as my full experience for return and receive and install.

For years I was uninformed enough to buy these filter replacements from Sears because they are for a Kenmore refrigerator. Then I found these substitutes, which generally serve the same purpose and fit exactly as the Sears brand at one-third the Kenmore price. The only problem I have had over the past five or so years is that occasionally the charcoal will congregate too close to the tip, and the water from the built-in dispenser will come out black. However, after two or three glassesful of water, it clears up fine.

I refused to pay the ridiculous prices at the department store for our Kenmore fridge water filters, so we just quit using it for quite a while. Eventually, this resulted in foul tasting ice since the ice maker runs through the filter as well. So, I decided to look elsewhere to correct the problem, and these filters are the solution.We've now got crystal clear water and ice at a fraction of the cost. Every bit as good as the OE filters, and I've noticed no issues with taste as some other reviewers have. Just clear water, which was what we were after. I'll definitely be ordering these again in the future.

These filters are much less expensive than the "name brand." They fit well, and seem to do the job. My only complaint is that I wish that they had more information about what level of filtration they provide - the original Kenmore filters (and their name brand counterparts) come in various grades, with the highest grade being a cyst filtration level. I believe that these filters are the lowest level of filtration, but again, the filters aren't labeled one way or the other. Still, a good deal for what they are.

We use this for our Kenmore Coldspot fridge. It works excellently. We have not tried any name brand filters, so we cannot compare, but the water quality is excellent.One complaint is that the water comes out slower by the end of the 6 month filter life. The quality is still good, just takes a while to fill a pitcher. We have hard water, so other users might not experience as much of a diminish.

I Ordered these on June 27th, installed it around the first of July and as of July 26th the indicator light is telling me I need to replace it already! At this rate they'll be far more expensive than the ones I was getting from Sears. I'm not happy about that. Otherwise, they seem to be working, but how do I really know? See my up-date below...Update: May 23, 2014 - Due to the fact I didn't think there could be any way the filter was used up yet, I left it in and in December of 2013 I decided to change it. (The original Sears filters used to last about 6 months.) I removed it and put it in the sink. I noticed some black flakey stuff on the top of it and rinsed it off. I figured I'd put it back in and reset the indicator. Here it is May and I'm still running the same filter I put in back in July of 2013! I'm going to change it just because it's been so long. I will update in a few months.

I have purchased these filters for our refrigerator at both our homes and have been very pleased with the water they produce. The tap water at our home in Florida is discolored and has a strong chlorine odor. The filtered water is perfectly clear and all the chlorine taste and odor is removed. These filters work just as well as the brand name filters that cost twice as much. I will buy these filters again. There is no need to turn off the water source and the replacement takes less than 15 seconds.
