Must read for all business people!
I underestimated the utility that would come from reading this book and pushed it off despite the continued prompts from my Entrepreneurial coach. It was well worth it. I'm so fired up to put strategies into action that I personally ain't got time to go into details. Just read it! One quick note though, I first tried skimming through the book and looking up summaries online ... It's not worth it. The meat of the wisdom is in taking the time to go through and process the examples and explanations. This book (best selling marketing series) will be good enough to serve as a foundation to where you will be better situated to possibly do that with other marketing material in the future. This is a good one because it incorporates the Internet and social media while still honing in on the key marketing principals. I'm not even a marketer but feel empowered to do so and teach it after reading this!

Not worth your time or money
I bought this book for my on-line marketing course (graduate level) and I found this book to be a complete disappointment. The book is not targeted at people who have a basic knowledge of marketing in general. Even if you have no knowledge in this field, purchase a different book. The information in this book is so basic, repetitive, and dumbed down that it is difficult to take seriously. It is apparent from the very beginning that as a reader you are being marketed to. This becomes annoying and I lost my trust in the authors because of this. Not to mention I didn't think the examples of excellent on-line marketing tactics were very good at all. For everyone who wants expert examples that are amazing, this is not the book for you.The book is also poorly edited. The mistakes are all over the place and I would love to recommend a copyeditor to the authors. It is hard to take a book seriously when there are typos and out right errors throughout the book. The repetitive language is highly redundant. You will read the same thing over and over and wonder if you've some how lost your place in the book. It is clear that the authors do not have high expectations for their audience; they repeat basic ideas continuously and use overly simplified language. The simplicity of the language doesn't allow the authors to clearly explain what crucial internet/computer components are, what they do, and why they are important for marketing. The information in the book is already dated. I would recommend finding a book that has more up to date information, the authors of this book are mourning the addition of pop up blockers.

a great book to learn Internet marketing
This is another of the great small business books that I've read. It teaches the small business owner, who has little knowledge and experience with websites, automation and Internet marketing, how to get it done. It's clear, well written and explains topics easily. Even if you feel you have some knowledge in this area, you'll pick up tons of tips and tricks. It is slightly dated in some examples (what is MySpace?) but the core info is timeless.Patrick @ www.ropaconsulting.co.za

Guerrilla's of the World Unite
All the Guerrilla books seem like smart buys to me. Levinson is a very clear speaker and his writing speaks directly to the heart of the matter. Every page offers practical, inspiring advice that makes you want to get moving in your life. This is very good for anyone who wants to market something. I am using it to help build an experimental writing website for Coatlism Press and [...] and it has helped me immensely. I strongly recommend it to anybody with any product. If it can help sell books and writing, which are hard to sell, I could only imagine how much help it could give to a faster selling product (like protein powder).

Great Small Business Marketing Tool
I am new to the marketing and publicity world, so this was one of my first books on it. I think it is an excellent resource for the novice or the expert who hasn't read any Guerrilla Marketing material or who has and wants to use it on the internet. I am using the information to grow my business, as well as in other areas of my life, both professionally and personally. The book is filled with great ideas, examples and instructions, which makes it interesting to read and easy to start implementing the strategies.Terry M. Covers Basic Information, Not Much In-Depth on Topics.
I've purchased this book because I was impressed with the high rating of it. After reading the book my impression was that it is geared towards entry-level, begginer person that has little experience about online business and marketing. However, for more experienced and advanced users you probably find this book not helpful at all. The book covers very brief information on very many different topics about an online business. It does not go into depth about any specific topic (as you might guess since the book only has 230 pages). Rather, the book covers general things that most people probably already know i.e. your website business should include a Blog, newsletter, facebook, etc. The other aspect of the book i found displeasing is having the author plug-in or give his own websites about specific things one might look for (i.e. list of web hosts, internet merchant accounts, etc).

Very interesting and complete.
New and seasoned web developers will learn something. It doesn't quite live up to Jay's Best Seller Marketing books but it is very good none the less.

Great
Jay Levinson has been writing common-sense marketing books for small business owners for 35 years, and I have yet to see someone do a better job- all his books are specific, timely and the things he recommends are affordable for any business!

Good read for a general overview
I quite enjoyed this book and got a few good tips out of it but as I was reading I wished they authors had gone deeper on many of the topics. I particularly enjoyed the 2nd chapter, The 12 Biggest I'net Marketing mistakes: and how to avoid them. Lots of good insights here and perhaps a swift kick to your derrière if you have not updated your concepts for the new Web 2.0. Perhaps that's the challenge of writing a book that purports to deal with the full range of I'net marketing in only 200 pages. Many of those topics have complete books written about them (SEO, Blogs, Analytics, writing for the Net, etc.) I have since read Internet Marketing: An Hour a Day and found it to be a much more comprehensive exploration of all of the I'net marketing topics. Mind you it's almost 600 pages. If you are looking for a quick read that will give you the good overview of the basics for implementing a web strategy this is a great place to start. There are more comprehensive reads if you are looking to take an existing site to a high efficiency Web 2.0 marketing machine. Internet Marketing: An Hour a Day
