~Four Realistic Raw Emotional Stars~
~Four Realistic Raw Emotional Stars~YEP, that is what I experienced while reading this well written story. I cried! More than once I cried. You can most definitely tell that L D writes with passion, pure heart and soul. She wants to make you think and feel and yearn for something. She wants to engage you in a loving, yet devastating and emotional story.I won't spoil this for you and I will tell you that I didn't see the twists coming. Yes, I knew something was coming and I guessed numerous scenarios the entire way through reading, only to be blown away. I DID NOT read any reviews before going into the story of Gemma, her husband Ryan and her childhood friend, Andrew and I'm glad I didn't. I won't lie though, I personally wanted a different ending, the ending I imagined in my mind and my heart, BUT it didn't end my way as it isn't supposed to because it wasn't my story to tell. I believe it ended the way L D wanted it to which didn't take away from this great story and I highly recommend it!!Now let's talk just a little bit about the story and we will start with Gemma. She is beautiful, a lawyer and a planner. She wants a family of her own but hasn't had any luck. Then everything comes crashing down around her when she finds her husband Ryan in bed with another woman. Gemma is devastated, hurt and now faced with lots of questions and heartache. Her life has suddenly turned into chaos and so she flees."I was questioning everything about him-my own husband-as if I had never really known him at all."She retreats to her families cabin where she used to spend her summers and time with her friends, more importantly Andrew, her best friend. They had become very close only to have their friendship ripped apart."My family became Drew's family from Memorial Day through Labor Day each year, and it had become harder and harder to say good-bye as the year's passed."Well low and behold Andrew is there, as well, staying in his families place which is right next to Gemma's. Needless to say they run into each other and start spending time together reminiscing about their childhood and teenage years together. There was a lot of emotion during this time between them and a lot of questions to be answered between their past and present lives, each one trying to figure out what had happened all those years ago. Why their friendship ended the way it did, ultimately leaving them to move on separately when you (the reader) and they knew how much each one of them meant to one another.Drew~"I was just a kid, afraid of rejection. But, more important, I was afraid of losing you," he said breathing hard.Gemma~"He had been a part of my life longer than I could remember, and, though we had been apart for years, he had never really left me."Lots of things are rekindled between these two, new and old, which leads to questions being answered and emotional turmoil as each one of them try to fight what is so visibly there. The simple fact that they love one another.Gemma becomes so confused and torn. She loves her husband and her friend. She tries to reevaluate her life, seeking answers and wanting to forgive, to move on. You could just feel her pain and agony."I wasn't sure what I feared more in the moment, my past or my future.""I was just living in the moment, selfishly doing what I wanted.""I wanted to forgive him, to forgive myself, and to move on but I didn't know if I could."So what does Gemma do? Well I'm certainly not going to tell you lol. What happens with Andrew and Ryan? Why kind of secrets are there? How will it all end?Are you intrigued? I hope so because I really enjoyed this book! You will definitely FEEL, in my opinion, what Gemma feels and maybe even Andrew.I guess you could consider this a love triangle and it does contain infidelity, so if this is a deal breaker for you, then you may not want to read it but I do recommend it and you should give it a try ;0)

Touching but upsetting.
I did really enjoy this book. I loved the twist the book took and the spiritual ties between the h and one of the H. I did not like how the h constantly shouldered the blame for her husband's infidelity. Strained marriage or not, communication should have taken place. You don't cheat. You talk about it. Her taking blame for his cheating made her weak in my eyes. And *****A SPOILER ALERT*****Before I would even consider taking back this man, he would NOT still be, **working with the skank he actually cheated and admittedly carried on an emotional affair with. But that did not happen. They moved on and he kept his job with the woman he slept with. NOT.A.CHANCE!

Needed more in the conclusion
While this story reeled me in, I did feel a bit of whiplash with that ending because I spent the majority of the book becoming invested in Gemma and Drew, only to discover the truth when it was over. That really didn't satisfy the journey, but if the author's intent was meant to be bittersweet and finding closure, then I get it. However, there was still quite a bit not addressed with Gemma's husband either and I would've liked to have gotten more of that given how things wound up.

wonderfully written!
this astonishing novel left me speechless. i've read too many romance novels in the past few years and they all boarderline the same scenario, same characters, but this was surprisingly refreshing and different from all others. the author was able to bring out so many different emotions from the reader, and i am not a sapp, but i cried, i laughed and then cried some more.gemma was such an incredible heroine because she was believable amd relatable. i found so many of my own qualities in her that i both love and hate to a fault.gemma's husband ryan was such a great and loving guy and he truely cared for his wife. he made a terrible mistake and gemma was left with the "where do we go from here?" its so honest because you think, "just leave, walk away and find someone else," but the author explored the idea that we all have a part in the situations that take place in our lives; we must take responsibility and figure out a way to move on. "can i just walk away after so many years of unconditional love because of this one mishap?"drew was swoon worthy! he and gemma were the best of friends and first loves. they spend every summer together as kids at the lake for vacationing. something happened and they were forced to seperate. after gemma found her husband cheating, she retreated to the lake after 20 years to fine solace. but what she found instead was drew, and after so many years apart, they said all that needed to be said, did all that should have been done. fate brought them to the lake together for a reason.the authors writing style is great. i felt like i was watching a movie instead of reading words with no images. forgiveness was a reoccuring theme in this novel. but so was redemption. it was about finding yourself, not being afraid to live for fear of what might happen tomorrow. i also loved the exploration of fate and of the difference between soul mates and the ones you're supposed to share your life with. i was also intrigued by the idea of something bigger, beyond ourselves and not necessarily faith, but that the universe is so much bigger than ourselves and maybe life and death isnt all that defines our beginning and end. there is no cliffhanger, but the author left me asking so many questions, but the good kind, the kind that doesnt need answers accept that somethings, are to not be understood, just simply accepted.i couldnt recommend this novel enough, i will surely keep cedergreen on my radar!

Loved it. Possible Spoilers in review.
While I'm not going to go into the he said she said and what happened in the story, the fact my brief review contains how emotions played, it might be perceived as 'Spoiler'. So be forewarned before reading further just in case.Heart breakingly beautiful and sorrowful and hopeful. I hope that's not a spoiler! I have to say it's seldom a book in the romance genre has the oomph to sink it's claws into my emotions like Gravity did. I thought I had it all laid out in front of me and broke myself crying when it twisted in a way I didn't see coming. It's a beautiful story, and there's no getting away from the fact that the majority of the story is sad, but it's also stunningly beautiful. So have the tissues handy, kettle boiling and some comfort food. Not your traditional love story, and yet it is in a way that's very real when forgiveness plays such an important part and some readers might not care for that. But whether you agree or not, it's a situation that can be real. I wish the HEA ending was the traditional ending, but then it wouldn't have had the impact on me it had. It was a beautiful read.

A beautifully written emotional roller coaster!
**4.5 stars**Wow! I don't really know how to review this book without spoiling it, but I'll just say this - it is an exceptionally well written book that blew me away. The story is gripping and there is a massive twist in the tale that completely floored me and changed the whole concept of the book.It dragged me in from the very first page and literally had me uncontrollably sobbing until the very last.A compelling and profound story that is fluently and beautifully written.

Lovely
A beautiful story of betrayal and forgiveness, despair and hope, belief in an alternative reality and an even stronger belief in the reality in which we live.

hmmm
Was debating on whether to give this book 3 or 4 stars.. It was such a moving story and will have you in tears.. For me what I couldn't get my head around was taking Ryan back. I personally don't think I could have done it tbh and that's where I found myself so conflicted. But - I would also say this is a definite must read!
