Q: Does this taste like birch beer?

Not really. It seemed a little like molasses. I had always wondered what it was like, and it was not easy to find until Amazon. It was good, and worth the price to try it, but I would not buy it again for regular use. I prefer real maple syrup actually.

I don't have that info. I use it very sparingly. It is a savory, not a sweet. I have read of those who have been disappointed in using it on pancakes, etc. I use it to add umami to my wine sauces. I also use it to baste in the final minutes of a roast. Be careful as it can burn. All the best.

Q: How is this product packaged?

It is in a glass bottle that ships wrapped in bubble wrap in a box. This was the case when I ordered it earlier this year.
