While a bit pricey for what it is, it's a perfect match in fit and finish to deal with the hanging of antique lamps. Acceptable build quality and works well

I changed out a small chandelier at the front door and obviously I had to open one of the rings in the new chain to shorten it. While I have been able to use the opened ring to hang the light from I've never been happy with the fit and finish of that ring and I was concerned about the strength of it.I'm glad I stumbled onto this part as it is exactly what I needed. Why don't lamp manufacturers include one of these when your purchase a new light? It arrived much faster than the Amazon estimate which was great as I was doing some other projects in the living room and already had the ladder out so that's appreciated. You won't be disappointed in this part.
