Balanced Approach
This book was co-authored by two of my college professors (Smith and Webb). I enjoyed the analysis and Christian perspective a great deal. A quick read that helps explain the moral dilemma associated with choices in economic growth.

Economic Growth-A Review
I gave this book five stars because it covers/summarizes contemporary issues very clearly without political favor-no political party endorsements here. This is an excellent book to read before voting in national elections and should be read by every concerned citizen. You hear and read a lot of material on the national news and internet and don't know what the truth is anymore; this book helps clear-up many conflicts. It sums up all the arguments from poverty, wealth distribution, environmental issues, technology, national debt, national deficits, international trade, the workings of the Federal Reserve System, and many more topics--in one 112 page book! It describes the benefits, costs, and trade-offs of alternative national policy impacts surrounding economic and related issues. It is not a theory book, contains no math, two easy to read graphs, and no charts and yet it is very informative. The typical voter can read this book without difficulty and get a lot out of it.Even though this book is not a textbook, it would be a good supplement to a course in economics, environmental preservation, political science, and sociology. It is clearly written.Rich

Prosperity is a moral issue
Economic growth is good for hiumanity. The book lays out the moral case for prosperity. Prosperity requires a foundation: + property rights + political stability + predictable taxation/rule of law + cultural acceptance of work/commerce + social trust + low corruption/high merit cultureProsperity is the result of a moral society, one with credit markets based on trust and reputation, high levels of tolerance for individual differences, and fewer prejudices.Since prosperity is strongly linked with social health and positive outcomes, why aren't more politicians talking about fostering greater prosperity for America?Short book:112 pages. Good section on recommended reading; good notes section. No index.

Perhaps the best book on growth and human flourishing
Perhaps the best of the many books on economic growth and human well-being for the general reader. Concise, clear, and well written. Covers the value of growth to the poor, sources of growth, policies that support growth, and discusses major objections.

A Good Summary
This is a very well written, well reasoned overview of the moral foundation of economic growth. I would recommend the book for either an undergraduate class in ethics or a church adult education class in social justice.

Fascinating
One can get an overall true understanding of economics from reading this small well written book. It should be required reading for all high school and college students, along with all policy makers. Powerful reading.
