Great Life Grain And Potato Free Dog Food Formula, Chicken, 25-Pound

I've been looking for a dog food brand that my 18 month old pug's stomach and skin agrees with and this is it! She started showing signs of allergies around 12 months. Fortunately for us, she showed signs of her allergies only on her skin; large pimples on her chin and lower mouth, as well as dry skin on her head. Grain-free worked for a little while but then the symptoms just came back and it was worse! I started cooking her food for her and found out that she's actually allergic to potatoes!!! *FUN FACT* Most grain-free dog products use potatoes as substitute! When I found this brand, I was excited for her to try it! She loves it and her face and skin cleared up about a week after trying it!

Has the right ingredients for my dog with many food allergies but the taste seems to not be his absolute favorite. The other three suitable ones that I have found for him he seems to like taste wise better but this is nevertheless a great option with high quality ingredients for dogs with food allergies, even the picky eaters. My dog is allergic to several things but three things that exclude most dry foods are fish, grains and potato. Highly recommend.

Everyone who feeds Great Life food knows there have been serious problems in recent months with distribution. I was thrilled to see it back in stock at Amazon because it's the only dry dog food one of my Labs can eat due to her multiple sensitivities. When I opened the most recent bag I noticed the individual pieces of food were much smaller than normal. I thought it might be due to the sale of the company and new or different manufacturing processes, so I checked the bag. What I found was the expiration date: 10/17/15. This bag of food has been expired for over a year! Seriously, Amazon?I was forced to use it because anything else makes my girl sick but I am not happy about it. Check the expiry date before using! I am reordering because I have to have it but this will be the last time if I receive more expired product.

When I found out my corgi was allergic to grain, sweet potatoes, turkey, dairy, and peas I became worried I would never be able to find her a single food that would support her dietary needs. This food does just that! Being grain and potato free is a hard combo to find, but Great Life has it.FYI: The packaging is different than the picture shown. I've ordered it twice in the past 4 months and it has been two different packages.

I have been using this brand of dog food for a couple of years or more. I got it here on amazon the last time because it was a little cheaper, and I had no problem. When time to buy again, of course, I get it from Amazon. When I opened the bag it smelled weird. I was so disappointed. I think it was old or spoiled, I don't know. I gave it to my little boy, he ate it, but I had to purchase another bag from the other company I originally got it from, I could not get past the smell. Also my little boy's bowels got pudding like and I don't know if it was from this smelly dog food or not. He's fine now after changing his dog food. This food is not cheap and I had to throw away a whole bag of dog food and that is not good. Will not buy this from Amazon again!

I choose this product, as the best food for my dogs because it is grain free, potato free, and "additive" free. It does not contain "natural flavor" which always contains free glutamic acid, by process. Free glutamic acid is MSG, an exitoory neurotoxin. What it does contain is a healthy balanced blend of optimal, whole food nutrition. Great life is great stuff!Edit 11/23/16: not anymore. It changed hands. The food now smells bad and has increased my dogs stool size by 3 times.

Happy, healthy 9 yr. old dog. We alternate between the Chicken, Salmon and Buffalo. Our 65 lb. collie mix gets the Great Life kibble every morning. I like that it has no peas or potatoes as well as being grain free. This is what separates it from the other Grain and Potatoes Free kibbles. Peas and potatoes can be high glycemic.

I used to by another food brand to my dog, that would do wonderful to her coat and stools, but have not been able to find anything similar since I cannot find the previous brand anymore. She is shedding and her stools are bigger and looser than used to be.
