Better than dynamat, stinger, etc.
Long time installer and have used all the common brands, dynamat, stinger, etc. And they all do a good job, because they're all relatively close to the same thing - butyl mat roughly 50-100mil thick backed by foil. Where reckhorn stood out for me was the cost of the bulk roll and the very clearly stated specs of the product and the reviews claiming no smell (butyl smells no matter what) and I am very pleased to report that is the case. The fact the thickness is stated on the product, which seems to be in fact heavier than either dynamat or stingers base products (both 60mil IIRC), was a big selling point. Being able to choose 80 or 100 makes a big weight difference and needs to be taken into consideration with other factors. Ie 80mil squares in doors just for vibration control when combined with sheets of mass laden vinyl for sound blocking, 100mil applications for dual use vibration dampening/sound blocking when mlv in impractical etc. This product is made very well. It is stiff and has a heavy feel and the foil seems much thicker than other products backings. Butyl was very tacky and held well to surfaces, will wait and see how permanent this is but it seems as tacky as dynamat.A quick visit to rechhorns website and founder ought to tell you what you need to know. The man knows what he's talking about. This isn't some fly by night industrial manufacturer who's got extra butyl around and wants to make a buck..

Works great for marine, too
This stuff is great. I installed it on the inside of my engine rooms on two different boats. I would guess there was a 30%+ reduction in cabin sound in my sportfisher. It was a huge difference. I'm going to try to do some more of the interior and see what happens too.The applications are great - like the back of a license plate to stop rattling. You name it.I didn't notice any smell to it, but if you haven't worked with butyl, beware, there is some weight to a roll. It stuck to fiberglass with no issue, even with a little residue from the old material. Its easy to cut - only thing that would be better is if it had grid lines printed on it. It deals with contours pretty well (I covered the inside of an outboard cowling with some left-overs). It's been holding up to the roughly 150*F heat for probably 40-50 hours with no issues.I only had one issue with it. My friend helping with the install got sloppy and covered a lip where another panel rests and slides on top. The butyl got smashed a little bit, and the residue was sticky and messy. Not the products fault though, but it stuck better than duct tape :)

Excellent Product
Excellent product comparable to other well known brands. I was hesitate to buy this as there was not many reviews and the product is based out of Europe. I also looked up the Redhorn home page and was impressed. I am more than pleased with the results. I bought this for my rear suicide doors on a Silverado and for under my back seats since the sub fires downwards. I bought the Knu door kit for my front doors which is alil thicker and I must admit alil stickier but this product sticks very well. Honestly I liked using the Redhorn over the Knu because it was a lot easier to move the piece after it was already stuck. I left the Redhorn at room temp overnight and installed it on a 60F degree day. I left the roll inside and only took out what I needed one piece at a time. The results are more than what I expected. Im running Infinity Kappa 6.5 co-ax in the rear doors and the mid bass is a lot deeper and cleaner sounding. Same results for the floorboard as the rattle the sub was making inside floorboard and on my outside door is completely gone. No smell at all. A+ product and the price cannot be beat.

This was just about the best price i found for butyl based deadener and was enough to do at least 2 of my front doors on my 2002 GMC Yukon with just a little left over. I tend to go overboard with this stuff, so i'm sure i could have done 4 doors if I used it less sparingly. I finished my vehicle with some asphalt stuff from Home Depot cuz i didnt want to wait to get another roll shipped. It was thinner has the asphalt smell to it but i didnt notice too much after i installed it. The Home Depot asphalt stuff was a lot tackier and more difficult to work with cuz it would stick to the door or other things that got in the way. This butyl deadener just seemed better all around, easy to install and no noticeable smell at all. I didn't do a direct comparison to see for myself if the butyl stuff deadened better than asphalt, but is seems to be easier to work with and the asphalt stuff can get messy and hard to work with while installing.

Good sound deadener
Better than the big brand names in the sound deadening sphere. Thick, good adhesive backing, no smell. Priced well. You get what you pay for and when you buy this sound deadener, you get a quality product. If you place this under the hood and roof of your car, you will notice that when it rains, you wont hear a pinging noise when rain hits your car. It adds weight to your car, about 22-23 pounds per 21.5Sq Ft roll at 80Mil thickness, so if you use 4 rolls on your car, you added 100 pounds to your car, effectively reducing the payload capacity by that much. Having said that, it wouldn't matter for an SUV or pickup with a V6 or V8, but if you have a small 4 Cylinder car, you might notice lower mpg or reduced acceleration if you place enough of this in your car. Use it wisely and carefully and its hard and messy to remove

Thicker
I've only used dynamat in the past so when I ran out I was looking for a lower priced alternative.Positives: It is slightly thicker then Dynamat but equally easy to use. Has next to no smell and cuts easy. Almost 1/2 the price of Dynamat.Negatives: The metal top is thicker then Dynamat but with it being thicker it cuts your hands much easier. Slightly less sticky then Dynamat but plenty sticky to get the job done. The butyl coating doesn't go all the way to the end of the foil. I ended up tearing off the extra 1/2" on each side. After using this product I will never go back to Dynamat, the price difference is just too much. Even if they were the same price I would have to think hard about what one to pick.
