KORN - PARADIGM SHIFT LIMITED SUPER DELUXE EDITION
No te arrepentirás!!!

Best since at LEAST Untouchables.
This album saw the return of Brian "Head" Welch. It's about time Korn went back to their real sound. I liked all of their albums a lot but I think that the last really KORN sounding record was Untouchables. Take a Look in The Mirror lacked the lyrical impact of their earlier records. See You on the Other Side was a lot poppier and kind of industrial, the same with Untitled except the production was a lot more raw and David Silveria was gone. They brought in Several drummers and it was their weakest album to me. Korn 3: Remember who you are saw Korn trying to go back to their roots and Ray Luzier recorded his first album in the band. It was heavy, but not in the same way as old school Korn, but Ray's drumming was a huge improvement over the last effort. The Path of Totality was just so different. Mixing Dubstep and Rock, and leaving Ray's skills on the sideline. Then Head came back. Thank God. This album is everything you want in a Korn album. Heavy Guitars, pounding bass, grooving drum beats, and soaring vocals. If you didn't like Korn before you won't now. I give the standard edition of this album 4.5/5 stars, and the Deluxe 5/5. It's amazing.1. Prey For Me- 5/5 stars: It starts off with that classic Korn groove, Heavy and Low. Then you hear the vocals and it sounds like Jonathan Davis around the Untouchables era. The chorus is a beast. My favorite part is the breakdown, You hear Jonathan Davis scream like a mad man like he did in Take a Look in the Mirror. I have to add that the guitar parts are very well put together.2. Love and Meth- 5/5 stars: Once again the guitar playing is the main focus in this song to me. They Mix in some electronics, but it really compliments the Korn sound on this track. The bass in this song is amazing. Jonathan is once again on his A game and mixes melody with roaring screams. The highlight vocally is the third verse. He sounds like a demon. The chorus is so epic in this song.3. What We Do- 4/5 stars: The groove in this song is once again undeniably old school Korn. The lyrics are really good in this song in particular. There are a lot of different things going on in this song. The vocals aren't the best on the album, but it kind of reminds me of My Gift To You off of Follow the Leader.4. Spike in My Veins- 4/5 stars: This song is very electronically driven. I think that its pretty good however. You hear some serious riffing on this track, and it's a lot different from most Korn-like riffs. The vocals in this song are very intriguing. It has melodic parts and rap inspired hard rock verses as well. It is a cool song if nothing else.5. Mass Hysteria- 5/5 stars: KORN!! This is a classic Korn song. I love it. The opening is creepy and the guitar is grooving and heavy. It has a tight sound. The lyrics are very creative and thought provoking and I love hearing those off key melodies in the background. The chorus in this song is my favorite on the standard edition album. The breakdown is so cool also, It is heavy but holds back the release. It is cool to hear the band trying new techniques.6. Paranoid and Aroused- 4/5 stars: This is a very different Korn riff. I love the effects. The vocals are very creatively performed. I think of the movie Seven for some reason when I hear this song. lol. I really enjoy the darkness of this song. Also, hearing Jonathan freak out always adds to a tracks heaviness.7. Never Never- 3/5 stars: This is just a radio track. I didn't care for it. Its catchy and has great use of vocal harmony but the instrumentation is basic at best. I was surprised to hear so few fills from Ray. The breakdown is the only part that really gives away that this is a Korn song and not Linkin Park. Didn't do it for me.8. Punishment Time- 4/5 stars: If you just heard the instrumentation you would think it was from Korn or Life is Peachy. But when Jonathan starts singing those Metal lyrics in such a melodic way it works amazingly well. Also the lyrics are brilliant. The chorus didn't really fit to me though. The vocal break down after the second chorus is so cool. Then It explodes in your face. Gooood song.9. Lullaby For a Sadist- 4.5/5 stars: I love this songs unique sound. But it is so un-Korn in the verses. The lyrics however counter that the song makes sense. I really enjoy the two melodies going on during the chorus. The chorus is so good. The breakdown in this song is very cool as well. I love the sound effects Jonathan Davis makes in the background.10. Victimized- 3.5/5 stars: The drumming is spectacular in this song. Thank you Ray for mixing it up. The riffs are classic Korn. Fieldy is really cool in this song. I didn't really care for this songs vocal delivery of the verses but I did like the chorus and the lyrical content.11. It's all Wrong- 5/5 stars: I thought the electronic intro was cool, and the riffage is very interestingly different. It is low like old school Korn but comes from a different direction to me. I like the lyrics. This has the best bridge on the album.Bonus Tracks:12. Wish I wasn't Born Today- 5/5 stars: Holy crap the guitars are so good in this song, and it has a lot less sing-songy of a chorus. Its sounds like something that could have been on Issues. Jonathan Davis nails this track . This song is huge. I love it.13. Tell Me What You Want- 5/5 stars: This Is My favorite song on the album, hands down. It has kind of a Mudvayne sound to me. It has those creepy off-tune riffs in it. Aggressive vocals and the heaviest breakdown in Korn history. This is an AMAZING song. Munky and Head Tear it up hard on this track and Fieldy obliterates your speakers with his most energetic bass line since Need To on their first self-titled album. The lyrics are classic Korn. This is the ultimate Korn song to me.Reconciliation DVD: 4/5 stars: I was kind of hoping for a Who Then Now or Deuce type video again, but its more of a documentary. It gives good insight to the making of the album and how Korn and Head got reunited. its pretty cool overall.
