Better for my head
My hair stylist recommended I use a semi permanent dye, as I dye my hair every 2 months to cover grey and there is no need to get dye into the center of the hair cuticle which weakens my hair as I dye it on a consistent basis anyway. I have stopped getting headaches and bumps on my head also less hair breakage. This hair dye might actually be good for my hair! One important thing the directions say wash and then condition. The conditioner in the box works amazing for me and I like that there is lots of conditioner. I also like it is eazy to open no scissors needed.Do not shampoo your hair right after dying! Wait at least 24 hours so your hair dye doesn't just wash back out.Burgundy. I usually buy this hair dye in black/blue if slowly fades and then when I reaply the shining black with a hint of dark blue appears when I stand in the sunlight. Since my hair fades back to a dark brown I decided to try Burgundy this time. It was a beautiful dark reddish brown that really looks red in the sunlight.I will most likely go back to black/blue, but I'm sure more blue will come out next time as I did a lighter color for a while

Purple undertones; not exactly same color portrayed on box
Overall I am happy with the product. It didn’t damage my hair, and was easy enough for me to apply at home myself. However I was expecting a warmer red hue, and ended up with a more purple undertone. I have dark brown hair naturally, and it is now a black/brown with reddish/purple hues. Although not what I expected, the color has grown on me.

My go-to dye for 10 years
I've been using this color on my hair for almost 10 years. I always think "maybe it's time for a change"...but then I come right back. The color is a deep black with red highlights, and the burgundy really shines in the sun. My natural color is a deep brown, but this color looks almost natural on me, and lasts about 3 months.I am obsessed with the included conditioner-I would buy it for life if it were available separately. I love the way my hair feels and smells after dying it; it's never been softer than those first few washes after dying.I do have to use 2 boxes, as I have incredibly thick, waist length hair. However, the process is easy enough for me to do it alone, and the cleanup is a breeze. I panicked the first time I covered my neck in my clumsy dye job, but it wipes away with just a damp rag.

My favorite brand of haircolor and a nice color.
Update: My grays have become more resistant. I still use this brand exclusively, but leave it on 15-20 mins instead of the directed 10. Only then will it cover my grays.I've been a user of Clairol Natural Instincts for several years now. I've had a hard time finding a variety of colors in stores. The brand is always good for covering my gray and keeping my hair soft. This is the first time I've used this color and I like it a lot. My hair is dark brown so I don't expect too much out of colors. It made my hair a bit darker, and has a definite red tone in the sun. My hair is pretty dark, so those with lighter hair can probably expect more red to come out. I will likely order it again.

Really top-notch formula
I have been using Natural Instincts for nearly 20 years. First the ebony mocha, and now this burgundy black. My hair is healthier and shinier for it, so thank you, Clairol! The grayer sections *take* the burgundy more, so it's redder around my temples, which is fine; I wanted to add some color to my face. I have found that this shade (the burgundy black) lasts longer than the ebony mocha. I can go 7-10 weeks between coloring sessions. It really doesn't seem to fade; it's more like my roots grow out, but it really is nice how subtle the grow-out phase appears.
