I bought one of these sockets from the Warehouse and I knew before it arrived it will have been returned because somebody tried to hack it unsuccessfully. As predicted when the item turned up there were scratches on the rear of the socket which suggested someone tried (and failed) where I would succeed.These devices have ESP8266 chips inside which means they can be hacked/flashed to run other software such as Tasmota or in my case ESPHome and then integrated natively into Home Assistant without using the Tuya platform.Accessing the ESP8266 chip isn't easy, there is a common earth bar running across the back of the socket which needs carefully separating from the rivtets where the screw holes are. Take care not to damage these as it's important (critical even) that they are reinstalled correctly to provide electrical safety. A full walkthrough of how to flash a custom firmware on these can be found by Googling "CU9KW ESPHome Home Assistant" - there's a thread with pictures and sample code.I'm very pleased with the result and will probably snag a few more to flash with ESPHome.

Is what it is, turned up damaged but I couldn’t be arsed to return it so I just put it in the wall cracked, it works ok just cracked in transit, probably the delivery driver drop kicking it over the fence !!

This is a good basic switch - I replaced an old one with it - easy to fit and a nice positive on / off

Easy to install if you know what your doing. Usb ports work great, swapped a few plugs about the house to this for ease
