Dated
I didn't pay too close of attention, but the information is dated in several areas. One in particular that stands out is the knowing your competition section - "Check the Yellow Pages". Definitely not the most up to date. Plus it is all black and white.

The book has helpful content and a lot of technical content that I would not use. Black and white pictures rather than color seems odd for a painting book. The binder of the book broke within the first twenty minutes of use and the first fifty pages fell out. Hopefully, this is not the norm. Still, the material is worth the work of putting it in the three hole binder and carrying with me.

Lot of info
This book is packed full of info for someone that has been painting for more then six months. Yes, some of the info is outdated by 20 years but if you know about painting you know what you still pertains to today. I wish it had more charts, graphs, and things that would help with estimating and bidding.

This is an older handbook but there is still a lot of solid information to be found. Recommend to those new to the field as well as those who can always learn something new.

Out of Date Book!
This book needs an updating. It was written in 1985 I believe. Alot of things have changed since then, so the book is not totally accurate. It definitely is not up with the times. The book shipped to me was so old, the pages started falling out shortly after I started reading it. I ended up taking it to staples and getting it spiral bound. That is way more handy. There is however helpful information to be taken from this book, so it was not a total waste. In retrospect I would say try the painting manual by Dennis Gleason. It was atleast written more recently (1999). It would be worth a try.

This book was recommended to me by my foreman
This book was recommended to me by my foreman. It's a bit of a dry read, but well-illustrated and instructive. It's well worth the money for apprentice level painters and journeymen alike.
