Keeps my substrate clean (and lures invasive snails to their doom)
I have two of these in use with glass petri dishes, one in a shrimp tank, and one in a small community tank with a large Corydoras catfish population. In both cases, they keep the substrate MUCH cleaner. I wish I had known about this product when setting up the tanks.My shrimp tank has an enormous problem with invasive snails. They are also drawn to the food in the glass petri dish, where it is easier to dispatch them with a chopstick than when they are on the substrate. The result also signals lunchtime to the shrimp. Win-win.
