Q: How do you add additional lead to this pencil, from the bottom or does it use a replaceable cartridge?

1. Remove the front piece from the barrel by turning the barrel counterclockwise. 2. Remove the cap from the end of the lead holder. 3. Insert new Faber-Castell 0.7mm leads into the lead holder. Add no more than 5 leads. If more leads are used this may cause a jam. 4. Return the cap to the lead holder making sure the longer side is facing outwards. 5. Return the front piece to the barrel by turning the barrel clockwise until secure. 6. Twist the cap to advance the lead and begin writing. 7. To retract the lead, hold the barrel, turn the cap and hold it in place. Push the lead back into the lead holder while the cap is held in place.
