Earthborn Holistic Great Plains Feast Grain-Free Dry Dog Food

I've used Earthborn for all my dogs for over a decade. Especially my Boxers. It soaks up nicely so that my older girl can eat without difficulty. Also, less digestive upset. I sprinkle digestive enzymes on their food and they do not bomb out the room. Also, less mess in the backyard. I've never had a dog reject any flavor. They love all products. High quality food and worth the price. Better food and diet, less vet visits. No ear infections, skin allergies here. :)

My dog has been eating Earthborn since I rescued him almost 10 years ago. I typically mix this food with some FreshPet all natural food and he LOVES it! It has always kept his coat healthy and soft.

Great product. Have used it for 10 years. Our dog is in perfect heath at 12.5 years

FDA WARNING AND VIOLATIONS - 0 starsI've purchased this food several times from Amazon, but this latest batch made my dog vomit multiple times. It took a little while to realize it was the food, and when I checked I found out that the FDA just issued violations and contamination warnings against this brand and 11 others made by the parent company, Midwestern Pet Foods. Throwing mine out now! Zero stars is not allowed, or I would rank that low. Dog Food Advisor website has a link to the FDA Violation letter to Midwestern Pet Foods, which makes the Earthborn Holistics I bought from Amazon. The violations note that multiple batches contain aflatoxin at levels as high as 558 ppb. FDA considers that aflatoxin levels in dog and cat food above 20 ppb are unsafe because of the reasonable possibility that a regular diet of such food will be fatal or injurious to the health of the pet. The FDA’s official warning to Midwestern Pet Foods contained multiple instances of critical safety violations. The maker has also recalled food batches due to Salmonella contamination and toxic mold in the recent past .

I have tried many top quality dog foods and would have to place Earthborn at or near the top of the list. The ingredients are all high in quality. I have always heard nightmare stories when attempting to change food but thankfully I did not run into an issue. The change was all made in 1 day without any repercussions. This is a quality food and worth the extra $$ you might have to spend on it.

You know when you introduce new food to your dog, you do it in small amounts? Well when my dog smelled it, he picked out all the Earthbound kibble and only ate that. He left his old food and didn't want it anymore. Which is odd because he didn't hate his old food, he loved it too. He would eat it all up. It made it difficult to carefully move him to the new food. Anywho, I wanted to switch him from Science Diet to a better food. Although Earthbound is more expensive, I wanted to move him to food that was less processed and overall more healthy. He loves Earthbound. He has not had any bad reactions to it. One time when he was sick, I tried to feed him rice in chicken broth and he refused to eat it. I put some kibble in his bowl and he picked out Earthbound and ate that instead. Which was so odd since I had some boiled chicken in there too! I have been feeding him Earthbound for about 2 months now and he still enjoys it. I will continue to purchase Earthbound and maybe try some other flavors.

My dog loves this food, and I appreciate any company that takes time to care for the environment. Earthborn has a UPCs for trees program. I also apprecaite holistic food. With my first dog I never paid any attention to what was in her food, and she was often sick. I have learned a lot since then, and now do my be.st to feed my dogs resposibly and limit the chemicals and unnatural ingredients

I'm sure this food is excellent for the right type of dog, but my girls did not care for it and one of my girls is a lab and they live for food. Maybe it wasn't fresh or it was spoiled, not sure but they would not touch it.
