Extremely Satisfied
Sharp, stunningly elegant, and extremely rugged.Comes razor edged and ready to cut nearly anything right out of the box.The blade takes and holds and edge extremely well, even under heavy stress (chopping, beating, throwing, etc...). It is just soft enough to sharpen on a rock if need be (that's a definite plus), and the stacked leather handle has only minimal slippage when stained with blood.Survival Certified in my book. The only downside is that I was hesitant to use it for the first week I had it because it really is just soooo pretty to look at. Mirror finish and all--definitely a gentleman's knife.Best blade for the price, hands down.

Ka-Bar Knives are Phenominal
I LOVE THIS KNIFE! I hunt a lot, and own a lot of knives...including a couple of smaller Ka-bars. I needed something larger to carry on my hip while hunting big dangerous game (Texas Wild Boar, etc.). This Bowie is just the ticket! It hefts well in the hand, is EXTREMELY sharp right out of the box and just looks beautiful too. If you need a large Bowie for cleaning big game and as a backup defense weapon when hunting dangerous animals, I highly recommend this Ka-bar Bowie! It really slices nicely throught hide and flesh. Also, the weight and balance is just right. Ka-Bar just makes outstanding products, and has for decades. It is nice to see that their quality and materials have not suffered or been diluted like so many other products out there. I will own this knife for the rest of my life and pass it on to my children. The knife came in a beautiful package from Ka-Bar along with a brochure on their entire line of products.

Kabar Still A Classic
I purchased two of the large Kabar bowie knives, one as a gift for my son-in-law and the other for myself. My introduction to Kabar was from a favorite uncle fifty years ago. He was an avid outdoorsman and professional guide. I remember the feel of quality and the beauty of the stacked leather handle. Nothing has changed, except for where the knives and scabbards are produced. The highly polished blade and attractive handle are presentation grade, but the tool begs to be used rather than be left behind in a case. I lean towards utility and don't mind the size of the knife on my belt or in my backpack. Amazon and the Blade Shop offer the knife at an excellent price and 2-day Prime delivery is too rapid to believe. No tool-guy could be disappointed in receiving this knife as a gift, even if he doesn't enjoy the outdoors.

Get a better Ka-Bar for a couple dollars more
The Bowie Hunter from Ka-Bar is extremely cheap, both in the sense that it costs little, and in the fact that the metal is DIN 1.4116 ss, a very low quality metal. You might think, on first inspection, that this knife was simply a glossy version of the normal Ka-Bar as it's about the same shape, and blade style, and they both have leather handles. However, if you compare this knife against one of the original style Ka-Bars, you'll notice a huge difference in weight. The regular Ka-Bar feels solid and sturdy, and the Bowie Hunter feels like it's made from aluminum foil. Field reviews of the knife reveal that it also functions like it's made out of aluminum foil, bending and breaking very easily. Yes, it's a very inexpensive blade and, for the money it's not the worst blade in the whole world. But just so you can compare, you can buy the original style Ka-Bar for about $10 more. Also for about 10 dollars more, you can buy the Ka-Bar "Large Heavy Bowie" which, although also made in Taiwan, is made from 1095 high carbon steel, is 9 inches long, and about 1/4 inch thick (as compared to this knife, which is extremely thin).Bottom line- yes this knife is cheap, but all knives like these are essentially unnecessary and since you're spending your money on something that's unnecessary anyways, you might as well as spend $10 more. And, on the slight chance that a knife like this IS completely necessary to your well being, then you should definitely spend the $10 more and get a better knife because this one will most definitely fail you.

Nice Show Knife...
This Ka-Bar Bowie Hunter is just Ok...I'm a little hesitant to review this knife, but I'll give your some data thats not in the description page anywhere, some basic facts, and a few of my opinions, then you can make up your own mind, if this knife is for you, or not? This is definitely not a crap knife, as some say it is.However, I do agree, it's also definitely not up to Ka-Bar standards, which with the Ka-Bar name, you'd expect a tough, no-nonsense, heavy duty, do it all knife. This knife is not any of that. It's a "Show knife".It comes completely polished up, very shiny. They do a very nice job at this! It's a traditional Bowie style blade. The blade is 7 inches long, 1.25 inches wide, and 1/8th inch thick. The steel is AUS-6, and it's a little softer than I'd like to see in a hunting/skinning knife. For a blade with these dimensions, I'd think it really should have been at least 3/16th's thick, if it were going to be used for hunting and specifically, cleaning/skinning.At least in my opinion. But again, for a show knife, thats really all you need.Plus you need to remember, it's only a 43 dollar knife. The knife is solid and well made. There is absolutely no give in the handle (no bending, very solid and stable), thats the first thing I checked. The stacked leather handle is done well, and very nice looking. The blade guard does look like solid brass, and is also well polished. The aluminum pommel is polished, and attached using a solid 1/8th inch pin, so the partial, full length tang, is not a welded on wire, or rod, as another reviewer had stated, at least not in my case.It is a true "Partial Full Length Tang".For the cost, I really don't think you can expect that much more.It is a very nice looking knife, and it is a "Show Knife".It is well made, but honestly I don't know what I'd use it for, because it's just a very light weight knife, meaning, it's not meant for any type of over use, or abuse!Again, this is only my opinion. It's definitely not close to a Becker, or a military Fighting/Utility knife. The sheath is FAR less impressive!Lastly, this is a very light knife (light in weight), so this may make it more appealable to some? Less weight to carry, can be a big plus when ounces count. If your looking for a "Top of the Line" Full Tang Bowie, take a look at the SOG S10B-K Tech Bowie. It's one of the best!Very tough/strong, AUS-8 steel, Kraton G handle (synthetic rubber, both heat and chemical resistant), Comes shaving sharp, Holds an edge really well, 1/4 inch thick blade, and comes with a very nice Kydex sheath. The SOG Tech Bowie is what a Bowie knife should be. I Love mine!Yes it does cost more, but I think it's worth every penny! So you can make your mind up, if this knife is for you, or not.Being only 43 dollars, I really can't complain. It might make a nice gift to someone who collects knives?I am thinking of gifting mine.I do love Ka-Bar knives, I own 5 full tang, and a few other locking folders. That being said, I really can't recommend this knife, one way or another.

Flashy but functional
Bought this on a whim (kids have claimed my bowie knives). Price was right, grip is nice, finish is great, holds an edge. Useful as a camping knife for food prep, light work (cutting rope, shaping sticks). I don't have the heart to abuse this with batoning or digging. Sheath is nice, not great quality.

ケーバーでも
台湾製のようです ブレードは輝きを放ってますがハンドルを構成する部分が写真のようにキレイではありません レザーシースもホックをしてないとナイフが滑り落ちてきます やはりケーバーはミリタリータイプのがいいです
