Great Kayak Paddles
I've rented kayaks in the past. I enjoy it so much that I picked up two used models. They didn't come with paddles though. So I bought a set of these Shorelines for my wife and I and couldn't be happier. The price was right, and their quality and performance match or exceed paddles costing twice as much. They are lightweight for extended outings on the water and work well with our Ocean Kayaks. 96" is the perfect length for my wife and I. I also like the adjustable drip guards and padded hand grips. The paddles quickly arrived safe and sound, shipped in a sturdy box. They come broken down in two pieces for easier transportation and click together solidly, giving you the option of three different paddle positions. The aluminum handle is very sturdy, as are the plastic scoops. These enter the water cleanly really help propel you along. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend them to novice kayakers looking for something affordable over a base model paddle.~ Kort

Great price for a good paddle
I've been using this paddle while I save up enough money to buy a better paddle. This paddle has been working great for me. It is actually very light compared to other, more expensive aluminum paddles. The two pieces snap in together well and there is not much slippage, meaning that the two pieces don't wobble much when clipped together. The padding on the shaft is very comfortable and prevents you from touching the cold or hot aluminum shaft (depending on the weather of course). The padding also doesn't rub your hands raw like I thought it would. It is very comfortable. The drip rings that come with the paddle aren't that great. Mine were deformed and did not stay in one place very well. They seemed a bit too big for the shaft diameter. Also; the paddles themselves do not seem very durable. This is probably why the paddle is so light. They haven't broken on me and I don't expect them to, BUT I don't think they could withstand much abuse. The paddles flex fairly easily which may be a concern for durability and efficiency.Despite the cons, this kayak paddle works very well, and for the price, its hard to beat. I would highly recommend this paddle to people who don't have a lot to spend on new gear or for people who need a cheap backup. This paddle has been working so well; I'm in no hurry to get a better one.

Great Design and Quality
I bought this 2 years ago and have probably used it around 80 times. I've bought a couple other inexpensive paddles in that time but they don't compare in any way to this one. The design is very efficient for paddling, it's reasonably light for this price range and very well made. I break it down every time I load up and the spring on the connector is still holding strong. Nothing has corroded and I almost always paddle in saltwater. I've sprayed the paddling surfaces a few times with NeverWet, which works pretty well. By repelling water and keeping the paddle dry, it reduces weight while paddling. I can't be sure that the thin layer of air caused by the hydrophobic coating doesn't reduce paddling efficiency but it's certainly a neat trick. I'll admit it was only thirty-two bucks when I bought it but up to (at least) fifty I'd say it's still a good value.

This is a very good paddle at a fair price
This is a very good paddle at a fair price. This item was purchased as a replacement paddle for a small inflatable kayak. The original paddle was flimsy, so the Shoreline was an upgrade. This paddle is very sturdy and has a better grip compared to the paddle it replaced. The test was in light surf and it performed well. The four star rating was for storage because it breaks down at only one place so it does not store away easily. This paddle floats low in the water so I suggest adding a flotation ring tor visibility. High marks for the foam grip because it grips very well when wet.

Great paddle!
I've been paddling for over 10 years and I own a number of good paddles. I bought this because I wanted a longer paddle for the open water, but after using it for the first time, it became my favorite. I have paddles that cost over $250 and I like this one better. It's sturdy enough to stand up to the rough treatment I demand and it's light enough that my arms don't get tired late in the day. It's also long and gives me more power and reach. It's not super rugged, but it's also not fragile. The best part is the price. I don't think you can get a better quality paddle for the price. I love it.

Perfect paddle for an excellent price.
I looked all around our local stores to purchase a paddle for my kayak. The prices ranged from $80.00 to some higher crazy numbers. This paddle is comfortable to hold for long periods of time. The length and width of the ends glide through water with little effort from me. I also love that it comes apart for easy storage in my car. Don't let the low price fool you into thinking this is a cheap paddle because its not. I recently went out on a friend kayak with their paddle. I found that it worked just the same as mine and yet he paid $80 for the same item in a local store. I can also compare it to another paddle that I purchased at a local big chain store. I needed a 2nd paddle immediately so I picked one up at this store. When I looked at it, I thought is seemed the same as my Shoreline; the price was about the same. However, once in the water I did notice a big difference and wasn't very happy with my purchase. I have decided to order a 2nd one of the Shoreline's and return to other.

Ok paddle but not stable enough for extended use.
Really just kind of ok paddles. Yes they do save you a ton of money instead of buying the $200 fiberglass paddles but I think there are better out there. I will say they are fairly light paddles and very easy to use in the water when the issues below aren't presenting themselves. The problems we have run into is that the two pieces do not stay locked together very well after attaching them. We like to float down rivers and at times when the water gets a bit hairy these have a tendency to come undone. The foam grips are nice but slide everywhere along the paddle which can be a real pain. These will probably end up taking a spot as a reserve paddle or a "just in case" paddle after we look around and try something else.
