This is probably a more expensive way to use carbon and chemical filtration, but it is very convenient.There is less rinsing involved since the media come pre-packaged and ready to go (it's slightly moist already).All you have to do is switch the bags. As a tip, put this bag next to the old one for a couple of days to make sure that bacteria colonize it and then remove the old bag. You're minimizing bacterial population swings that way and making sure re-population is quick. That's helpful if you have a smaller tank because it minimizes ammonia related swings as bacterial populations change.I'm not sure about the efficacy of this substance but I would venture to say that it is about as effective as other forms of activated carbon and a bit more convenient because it includes resins to remove other chemicals.

Wow what an excellent product. Perfect size for my HOB in my 20 long aquarium. After putting it in it wasn’t long before I has crystal clear water and the fowl smell of low tide of an algae problem I had went away. I think it helped with the algae problem itself too but I can’t 100% pin it on that. Quality stuff. First one I ordered came opened and the seal was missing but I was promptly sent a replacement. Would buy again.

Boyd’s Chmipure is an effective and standard filter media for salt water aquaium. Have used it for many years?

Have not setup an aquarium in a while but happy to see my old standby is still available. This stuff is like adding magic to your filter. Clean water and makes the fish hungry.

I have a small 29 gallon nano reef tank and I use this and swap it out with chemipure blue every 2 weeks. It is perfect for small tanks.

I have a 30 gal that holds 25 after all the rock and what not. One package works great ! Replace as directed.
