Incredibly detailed read but cool stories

My grandson is soon to graduate as a sports journalist. Gave it for birthirthay. He treasures the history that it provides!

Very knowledgeable and readable. Got it to prepare for a course on American sport - about which I know nothing. Absolutely fit with my own observations and sense of disturbance about the militarization, sentimentalizing of police, army, feel-good victims like children, old people, war vets. Very absorbing read.

An excellent informative readable book. Gives me a perspective of sport development in America that contrasts with sport as it grew in Ireand and Britain.Still awaiting my book on Judo; any prospect of receiving soon. Con Kelleher.
