Thumbs tore off
So I used these for about two or three hours of swimming. By the end of the night, I noticed the thumbs had started getting holes in the web. I put them back on the next day to swim, and they ripped off on both hands within a minute of swimming. Whoops.Took the scissors to them and trimmed them down to the index finger to fix the "flap" left over. Now they're just on the main fingers and they've lasted about two weeks worth of swimming. They really do work great, providing a lot of resistance when swimming. My arms were tired within the first few minutes of using them, as opposed to an hour of swimming without them. They provide also a faster speed in short bursts. Our pool is rather small (about 40 feet in length at the widest) but I can get from one side to the other in just a few powerful strokes with these on. Before it took me at least 3 to 4 times the amount of strokes bare handed. If I take these off, it feels as if my hands cut through the water like butter, and my times are faster back and forth. These do run a little small. So if you have big hands like me, the Large ones will be a little tight and might be uncomfortable after about 20 minutes. Just take them off, let your fingers get the blood back and go back at it.Children will benefit from the Small or Medium versions.

B/C you've always wanted webbed fingers...
These took awhile to get to Hawaii. Usually things only take a few days, these took over a week. Anyways, as for the actual product: I've only used them once so far but they seem to be of good quality as long as you are careful. If you try and rip these off quickly they most likely will tear. I put them on and take them off underwater. It's easier to wriggle them on. These aren't super tight either. I use the Large size and I have giant hands. I don't feel like they cut off circulation or anything. They make me feel so much faster in the water. I bought these to help with free dive training. If you're a competitive swimmer I don't recommend these for swimming laps. Why? I think they teach you bad habits. You don't want to swim with your fingers spread apart. If you're just swimming for exercise, they can be beneficial.

I preferred this over glove style.
I ordered both this item and a glove style (with open fingers). The gloves felt bulky, but did provide more resistance. Other reviewers said open fingers were better, which I agree, so water does not stay in the glove.I was little concerned this product would slip off my fingers while swimming, but it actually stays on quite well. It does not advertize to others that you are wearing webbed fingers, yet adds a little more resistance while swimming. removing takes a little effort, but not bothersome.I have size 7 hands (average), and the "L" size fits just right. It feels little loose when you put it on, but it stays because of the grippy silicone material.Unfortunately I only used it once before my son lost it. I did not bother ordering another one because I realized I swim to burn calories, not to swim fast or build bulky muscles.

Web-o-rific
Using these to bodysurf. Hands are needed more than one might think, grabbing the bottom, manipulating fins (if worn), adjusting suits, etc. All done with ease wearing these web-gloves. They feel like they multiply handstroke force by about three, but that is difficult to measure. What I like most is they effectively give dolphin-like side flippers for dolphin kicking. This greatly reduces the extent of rocking motion required to dolphin kick. It improves rear fin (if worn) underwater kicks, because the rear fins stay down better. Catching a wave is much easier, due to the added thrust and wave speed matching. The web-gloves also serve as a hand-plane once the wave is caught. The web-gloves are as thin as the photo indicates and ripped on my third session. They are also too tight. Had to remove them after fifteen minutes due to numb fingertips. The distance and width of the thumb section could both be slightly larger, but that's a quibble.Overall, these web-gloves are outstanding. Put another millimeter of thickness throughout and make an extra-large please?

Much better than paddle gloves!
They can be a little tough to pull on (I dip them and my hand in the water first to make them go on easier), but they allow full use of my fingers and really add a lot of resistance to my swim stroke. My arm muscles get a much better workout. I am not sure how other reviewers have managed to tear them - they are fairly thick, and if you gently pull them on and off over each finger, they should last a long time. The only drawback is that they are translucent and difficult to see if you leave them laying about - therefore easy to lose. I'm getting another couple of pairs cos I know I'll probably lose mine.

They fit very nicely, even over my (flat) rings
You know, I wondered about these since a fair number of the reviews said the webs were a bit weak, and often ripped between the pointer and thumb. I've been using these for, what, a year? More I think, and haven't had a single problem with them. They fit very nicely, even over my (flat) rings, and don't irritate or impede me the way swim gloves and paddles do, and they're far more comfortable and neato to-boot!Word of wisdom, when swimming in anything but fresh water, be sure to rinse any silicone-esque materials well with clean water as salt and especially chlorine *will* damage the material over time, greatly shortening its usability.

Get more from aqua aerobics
I like these much better than gloves. They add the resistance you want when working out in the pool but are not bulky and ugly. They dry quickly and don't take up much space in your bag.I have found they are easiest to put on if my hands are wet and having webbed fingers without covering my whole hand is a bonus.Measure carefully, they come in sizes and a good fit is important.
