Lift Supports Depot Qty (2) Compatible with Kia Sorento 2011 to 2014 Liftgate Tailgate Supports Shocks Struts

Been putting off fixing the hatch door on my wife's 2012 Kia Sorento because I thought it would be expensive to get replacement door pistons. Once I figured out which ones I needed, was very happy that they were only ~35 for the pair and got them ordered. Getting off the old ones is as easy as sticking a small flathead screwdriver under the locking harness and lifting it up so the ball and socket joint can be separated. The new ones go on EASY, you literally just push them on and they lock in place automatically. My wife made sure the door didn't close accidently, but I propped the door all the way up using a 2x4 which made it very stable. Can't speak to the long term performance of these, but the ordering and swapping out was one of the easiest repair/fixes I've had in a long time. The new pistons are nice and tight and it actually takes a little force to close the door, like when it was new.

The struts on our 2013 Kia Sorento’s lift gate went out about a week ago now. We get free oil changes from Superior Kia, and were about due. So I called them to see how much they would charge to replace the struts. My mouth about hit the floor when they quoted me $210.00+ tax!!! I’m mediocre at best when it comes to fixing things, but I figured it would be worth the shot. So, $40 and a few days shipping has more than quadrupled my savings! These struts work exactly as described. The install was super easy, a couple of retaining clips on either end. I’m not exaggerating in the slightest when I say it took less than 15 minutes to pop the old ones off, and put the new ones on. Don’t let the stealership take your money on this repair.

This product fit perfectly and was easy to install. All you need is someone to hold the hatch open, use a screwdriver to open clips on each end put on then close clips with a screwdriver took about 5 minutes it was recommended to change both so you don’t warp the arm supports.

My original lifters were about done for. They would barely support the lift hatch. I replaced with these, they are premium grade and what a difference they made. Now when I unlatch the lift gate and start to raise it the gate shoots up quickly. It does take more effort to pull down and close but I plan on keeping this vehicle until it is done for and I don't ever envision having to replace this part again.

Installed on a 2011 Sorento. I cannot speak about longevity since I just installed them. It took me longer to research "how to" videos on youtube than it did to install them; about 10 minutes. It helped to have a second person to fully open the liftgate when we made the second connection on each strut. Otherwise it would be a juggling act to make the second connection while holding the liftgate fully open. If you do not fully open the liftgate the struts appear to be 1/4 to 1/2 " too long; they are not on my vehicle. Good fit.

I ordered these tailgate supports for my son since his tailgate supports were broken. My son is not mechanically inclined, so I wondered if He would be able to install them himself. He told me he had absolutely no problem, putting them on himself, and they work perfectly, as well as saving him quite a bit of money by being able to put them on himself, so he was very proud of himself

Easy to install. You lose the collar then just push it against the ball pin. I was gonna use a rubber mallet but realized not needed. Just use your thumb. I'm just hoping it will last at least 10 years.
