Works like a charm in Win7
Installed on Dell all in one with no wireless card running Win7. Installation menus were a little bit different than the included tiny print manual, but easy enough to figure out if you're used to installs. Could be confusing to those without much experience. But once I installed the drivers then plugged it in, it came up immediately and loaded, and a wireless connection appeared. So far it seems stable and about as fast as my ethernet connection, so I'm pleased so far. I'm glad I got this one with the extension cable to get the antennas away from the pc, as it won't fit in my rear usb ports due to recess, and would have looked a bit wonky sticking out of the sides and limited my use of those ports and I used them all the time for earbuds and flash drives. So I like it!

Dramatic speed boost
Recently moved into an apartment with signal-blocking walls, and no option of hard-wiring. Initially purchased a USB Wifi adapter (for my desktop) that looks like a tiny knob; super-compact and no external antenna (and 2.4ghz only). Got 3-5 mb/s. Horribly disappointed. Could not stream video reliably. Getting a usb extension to raise the device high made little/no improvement.Decided to give it one more go by purchasing this device, Vonbarque adapter. Plug and play. Nothing to configure. With 2.4ghz wifi, speed jumped to 35 mb/s, a tenfold increase. With 5ghz wifi, speed topped out at 100 mb/s which is my ISP capped max. Wow! I. AM. IMPRESSED. What can I say? Highly recommended.

Good Product, with a few flaws
This product works well. Two chronic problems though. 1) The adapter shuts itself off when the computer goes into sleep mode. To restart it one must unplug and plug the cord, then start it up again from the app. This is a PIA. 2) the USB cord is thick and stiff, as it should be to carry RF frequencies. However, it is so springy that it constantly unbalances the antenna body, which flips over just by looking at it. A heavier base pad will solve this. I borrowed one of my wife's ceramic coasters and stuck it on with a piece of double sided tape.

Vonbarque Dual Band WiFi Adapter works great
I purchased this dual band WiFi Adapter to replace an older 2.4gH WiFi adapter. From experience, I knew that it would not pick up a strong enough signal if I only attached the Vonbarque assembly directly to the back of my PC because it is floor level and has to travel to the other side of the house to the router through at least one outside wall. For that reason, I knew I needed a 6 ft USB 3.0 extension cable to mount it on the very top of the bookcase above my desk. After delivery of both items above, I followed the advice from other reviewers who have Windows 10 OS of attaching to USB 3.0 on back of PC first for immediate installation. After the easy assembly of the Vonbarque WiFi adapter to the two antennas, I plugged the USB 3.0 WiFi adapter direction into an open USB 3.0 in the back of my PC. Once plugged in, Windows 10 immediately installed it and I chose the 5gH for my PC. Once that was done, I shut the PC down, removed the adapter from the back and placed the Vonbarque assembly with the base on the top of my bookshelf. I added a Cable Matters 6 ft USB 3.0 cable to the Vonbarque USB cable, ran the assembled cables down and thru back of desk to PC. Replaced PC back into the desk and turned it on. Working well for the two days it has been installed and should continue.

Did not work on my Windows 7 PC
I ordered this because I had an older computer I was getting ready to give away, but the installed Wi-Fi card only supported single-band. A USB dual-band seemed the way to go. USB is always a snap to install, and it came with a driver disk. I did everything the instructions said, and it's not exactly a difficult task. You'd have to TRY to mess up an installation like this. It initially would not see any network connections of any kind. I restarted the computer, and then it worked for about 24 hours. Next time I turned on the computer, again, it failed to see any network connections, including the ones I'd been using on it just a few hours earlier. I disconnected and uninstalled it, then re-enabled my existing Wi-Fi card so I had internet access long enough to order a proper INTERNAL PCI-e WiFi card, which worked fine. But this product? Not so much. No issues with the seller, as the item arrived right on schedule. But the product itself didn't work for me.
