Space Mathematics: Math Problems Based on Space Science (Dover Books on Aeronautical Engineering)

My son loves this book. He studied it in his summary break between 8th grade and 9th grade. He is a bit of a math nerd, it still took him about 6 weeks to complete this book.

The math is not difficult. In fact, when designing either circuits or rockets college algebra is usually sufficient. Engineers today can use Mathcad for plots, and for sensitivity analysis. No more slide rules.

Good presentation. Cleanly printed, great High School level intro to outer space mathematics.Includes intro to binary numbers, translation from units of distance (feet, meters, miles, AUs, light years, par secs), star brightness, distance , geometry, statistics, fuel, . .May be a few more subjects too, not much here for orbital, nor material science, but some of the subjects are bright and pretty in the text. Great intro and something for person's appetite in outer space mathematics.

This is a great resource for High School science and math teachers. Problems with solutions are provided that show how the mathematics their students are currently learning find real world applications in space science and technology. Compiled by NASA personnel, these problems will both serve to instruct and to get students excited about space science and technology. There is a wide range of difficulty, from simple computations to fairly involved derivations.

Excellent for Humanities majors secretly harboring a desire to be rocket scientists.

Wonderful collection of problems and examples, suitable for students from high school through early undergraduate. I've reworked several of the FORTRAN programs into Python to use with a Computational Physics class...

This is an excellent book, on this subject at the high school level. It's at a very challenging level, for many.

Warning !This book has only solved problems. This book doesn’t cover any theory or derivations of any formulas. In order to solve all the problems independently one must have preliminary knowledge about calculus, trigonometry and higher level mathematics.If you think you have excellent knowledge in calculus and algebra/ trigonometry, this book is for you.However this book has explained all the solves problems nicely. But there is no derivation or theories in this book.
