Great!
This is a great starter book for anyone interested in childhood studies and/or anthropology. The author does a nice job of condensing a lot of information into an accessible book for all. Great for high school and college level students.

Fascinating read
Fascinating review of what childhood is like all over the world. It should be an interesting read for parents, teachers, anyone who spends a lot of time with children.

The professor who wants to use every single bit of research he's done on this topic.
I'm still struggling to get through this tome. Unfortunately, I read a great review of this book, which is why I bought it. It's really a textbook, and not a very good one. Chapters read like lists. There's no development of ideas here (so far: I've read the first 100 pages). If this was a text for an anthropology course I was taking in college, I'd never read another anthropology book again.

A fascinating look at childhood and societal expectations' evolutions.

It reads more like a text book than anything else
Very interesting book, but it's dense. It reads more like a text book than anything else, and maybe that's my bad. But this isn't a leisurely read by any stretch.

Book review
Other than a few pages with highlights, the book was in great condition and came in a wonderfully prompt amount of time. Thanks so much!!
