like this but seems expensive for a hunk of plastic I would expect it to be in the 15~20 dollar range would have bought several if they were in that range

Stay away from this mount. It is not universal. I've tried it on multiple board kite-boards and snowboard. The camera feel lose and keeps losing the angle that you set up on the board. There's better mounts on the market. Save yourself time and money.
