Very Helpful
I don't usually write reviews. Who has time? I wanted to review this book though because it's been a really good tool helping my sweetie learn to speak again after his brain injury. There are a number of activities, brain "games" and ways to practice speech.

I cannot just see him doing this time span without helping the best I can
My husband has Aphasia after he suffered a stroke in August. He is on Medicaid. Under their requirements they stop his therapies for several weeks before evaluating him again. During this time nothing is happening to help him. I am not a trained therapist, I am his wife. I cannot just see him doing this time span without helping the best I can. I am unable to assist in his PT/OT but I can help with his speech. I found this book very helpful in helping him in the interim. It is very easy to understand and I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to help someone, even during speech therapy with a real therapist. Very helpful!

Excellent Book for Aphasia Rehab!!
Excellent book!! The Speech Therapists at the rehab where my mom is (with aphasia from a seizure) were so impressed with this book. Mom has been working with it, and also an app that we were referred to. I would suggest this book to anyone with aphasia who is also doing speech therapy or as a way to keep working between sessions.

Nice well written book, but let Professional guide you
I am a Mom with a child on Autism Spectrum. I purchased because Speech Pathologist was using something similar. Nice well written book, but I should leave up to Pathologist who knows how best to use this book.

FIne resource to supplement speech therapy
FIne resource to supplement speech therapy, which tends to focus on a single aspect repetitively. I am sure that is the appropriate professional approach, but this book offers a variety of exercises that are effective, even if a "partner" is needed for some.

Great receptive aphasia workbook
As a speech language pathologist I occasionally work with people with receptive aphasia otherwise known as fluent aphasia or Wernicke‘s aphasia. This is a great resource to work on skills for people with those aphasias.

Working with this workbook has made a difference and we have noticed improvement in an elderly relative who suffered a stroke. I would strongly recommend the book as a way of assisting in the recovery process for anyone who wants to invest themselves at this level.

A massive help!
I bought this for my father who had a stroke just over 3 weeks ago and has had some communication difficulties since.I found it when my mother and I were pretty stuck with the lack of information about exercises you can do to help people with Aphasia. We feel it's helped him a lot in quite a short space of time and would definitely recommend it. We did also buy the first book in this series although he did find this one slightly easier to grasp. His speech therapist also agreed it was a good buy, but suggested we didn't use it for extended periods every day - although my father was keen to carry on - as he was getting a little frustrated on the bits which didn't come too easily to him - patience and reassurance is definitely key here. The book is a little Americanised in places - talking about the US States etc. I wouldn't say it affects my rating for the book at all, but worth keeping in mind, as we've personally decided to skip over some of those bits to avoid any possible confusion. We have decided to buy the third book in the series too - I'd suggest it'll take many months to get through all three, but we really have found the first two very helpful.
