Bill Peet writes captivating stories that I love to share with my grandchildren and others. His writings and illustrations are always whimsical and full of characterbuilding values.

I have read these to my kids and now my grandkids. They love them! We have quite a few and this one is my granddaughters favorite.

Bill Peet is one of my favorite children's book authors. I have a set for myself, and I have bought his books for my grandchildren, and am now buying them for my great grandchildren. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with anything Bill has written. They are wonderful books.

Bill Peet is one of my favorite kids book authors. I read these as a kid, got them for my kids, nieces and nephews and have put away a set for for my grandchildren someday. The stories and characters are always well designed and draw kids in. The illustrations are bright and colorful while still being somewhat simplistic giving them a lovable cartoon appearance. The stories have great moral and life lessons told in a fun way. These stories have stood the test of time and have been loved by many in my family

Anything published by Bill Peet (and he has published numerous children's books--AND illustrated them!) is a winner. My three children LOVED Bill Peet, and had I had the money, I would have bought everything he wrote and put the books on a special shelf, to keep forever. My children are grown now, with children of their own. I purchased JENNIFER AND JOSEPHINE for a grandchild, for it was one of my son's (the father) favorites . . . the kittens, the old car, the personality of the driver . . . the illustrations are SUPERB--it's an outstanding winner for any child; and, as far as I am concerned, most enjoyable time spent reading it aloud with the child.

This is a cute book and story.

My granddaughter loved this story, but then she is a Bill Peet fan. All of his stories are very appealing.

We bought this book for our two grandchildren, aged 2 and 4. We read all of Bill Peet's books to our own children. We all enjoyed every one of his books.

Lovely rhythm to the rhymes, the story is very engaging. Bill Peet has a way of making even inanimate objects come to life. The pictures are wonderful, although they are getting dated. It's like a snapshot of earlier times. My three year old grandson has been enjoying Bill Peet books since he was just 2. The pace of the story and detail of the pictures are enough to hold his attention for a rather long read. And it's a good enough story that it won't drive parents batty to read it over and over again.

This book is very special to me and my children! I used to read it to them when they were little. I was so pleased to find it at Amazon, at a great price!
