People who do this need to know before going in that you need to DIVIDE UP YOUR THREAD! If you do not divide your thread and only use 3 strands at a time, you WILL run out. I did. This was my first cross-stitch since childhood. I don't remember how to do this stuff, so I read through the instructions. It did not clarify what some things meant, so I did not understand that they expect you to divide your thread. I love the cross-stitch. It's so cute! But I wish I had known. You just can't go back and undo the mess. So, the only thing I suggest is clearer instructions for beginners like me.

This was an extremely rewarding project, especially for lockdown boredom. I would say don’t put much weight in these other negative reviews as frankly a lot of them cited problems that would have been remedied by actually READING the product description here on Amazon.Yes, embroidery floss consists of 6 woven strands and you must separate them into 3strands for this project. When you do this there is plenty of floss to finish this project (I actually have extra of a majority of the colors).Yes, there are grid lines on the fabric as well as a multicolored key. These are STAMPED kits and this is for OUR convenience people. The colors are bright and don’t match the floss because a lot of the colors are very similar and right next to each other. In a sea of cream stitches, seeing the purple square next to it is a god send. And do not fear, I repeat DO NOT FEAR. All the lines, the colors, the key at the sides and bottom are done in water soluble ink. I soaked the finished piece twice in cool water (not even with soap) and it faded away quickly, within ten minutes.I have cross stitched in the past (not a terrible lot) but I think this is doable for a beginner especially with so many beginner videos on how to do the basic stitch on YouTube. For very few skills, and a lot of patience you get a GORGEOUS product.This took me about two and a half weeks to do.

The stay home order seemed like a good time to re-connect with cross stitch after a 30 year hiatus. This kit is fantastic! I loved the thread organizer, and having the stamped cloth makes it so much easier than counting. All components were of high quality. Best of all, the results are fantastic. I enjoyed this so much, I've put my next counted cross stitch project on hold and ordered another Maydear stamped kit which will hopefully arrive later this week. Thank you for a great product!

initially a bit confused with instructions but once i got started it all made sense. Deliver was great. this is my first actual cross stitch so do appreciated the pre-printed canvas. Much bigger than i thought but love the size

I had just completed a complicated counted cross-stitch and was looking for something easier to work on. I ordered the mouse in the teapot. It was somewhat confusing at first because the printed colors didn't match the floss colors, but I soon caught on. I would not suggest this for beginners because it still requires cross-stitch techniques. When I finished, the instructions were to wash the cross-stitch in warm, soapy water to wash away the printed colors. I was hesitant at first, but it worked. The cross-stitch turned out very cute liked I hoped it would. I will be framing it. I'm going to try another one of these in the future.

I loved working this and it turned out great but when I washed it (as per the instructions) the colors blead. Now the white is colored n does not come out . Useless now and after all that work :(

Great quality with awesome cross stitch designs. The threads are vibrant with a variety of colors. They are thoughtful for beginners with instructions to follow. I would highly recommend this for those who are seeking to do crafting by DIY.

Beginner beware! Do your research on a quarter and three quarter stitches and how to find how they belong in the pattern when it comes up. One stitch might be a quarter stitch from bottom left to middle, other ones might be top right to middle. Just be sure you know how to do those. It isn't hard once you learn it, and I don't think there are many of them in here but I sure wish I would have known all that before buying as my first project as a refresher. Otherwise it is super cute!!Package actually got lost for 3 weeks and amazon gave me a refund. I was super shocked when it showed up 2wks later! They didn't want if back, so I kept it. Super cute. My granddaughter wanted to learn to crosstitch and I thought this would be ideal. The directions appear to be written for a variety of patterns and it wasn't clear whether to use 2 or 3 strands of thread. Also there were several 1/2 and 3/4 stitches required - not the best for a young beginner's first attempt

The colour that’s printed on the fabric is not the same as the floss. Using as baby shower gift.

Too complicated for a beginner and very little in the way of helpful directions to get going with. We'll be finding something easier to start with and then come back to this at some point

I love the printed method in cross stitch and I wish they had more products like this.
