Its a nice clip BUT as with most clips out here they lose their tension after being stuffed. Its got a nice finish but it either gets scratched or worn easily. So if you get the colored/coated ones, dont expect it to last long. These suckers get scratched a lot in pockets whether the abrasion from your pants or the more sever abrasion from metal things in your pocket. I normally carry a lot of bills so if I put only a few bills - about 6 on a side then it wont hold it. I included a pic with it holding 15 bills on each side which makes it about the size of a battery once stuffed...which is not much. I simply say if you always carry a lot of bills it will work, but once it gets stretched it wont fit for small amounts of bills.

I started using a money clip years ago when I stopped carrying a wallet. All clips, including these, seem to get metal fatigue after about 3 years causing the units to break along the top fold. These held up as well as any I have tried. Additionally the finish wears off from the constant use. However, these are just the right size for a piece of scrimshaw I have so I just take it off the old one and glue it on to the new one knowing that eventually I will need to repeat the process.Have attached a picture of my old clip; the arrow points to where the metal as broken... about half way down and you can see the finish missing from the clip.

Clip works very well, looks good. It grips even a single bill tightly. Workmanship seems good. No complaints thus far!Nov - 2016Nearly 18 months later, I am still very pleased with this clip. I use it in combination with a Basics wallet and find it to be the perfect combination. It has been exposed to all kinds of harsh conditions including salt water with no ill effects. I will say that it has loosened a little bit over time and a single bill will slide out unless double folded, but that is not a problem for me. Great product, increasing to 5 stars.

Before this clip I bought one off Amazon that was about the same price but without a clasp mechanism. I found this is a critical requirement for holding both thick and thin items without stretching out the metal. I am very satisfied with this little clip and use it every day.Edit: 8/15/2015 (2 months later): Still using the clip every day and enjoy the freedom of not sitting on a thick wallet. This money clip has a small screw that goes along the entire width of the clip where the hinge is. Recently I saw this screw was about 3mm out of the hole. I got a tiny screw driver and screwed it all the way in and made sure its tight. As good as new and I'm still very happy with the value of this clip.

For value I give it five stars. People giving low ratings seem to forget its a ten buck clip. I lost a really good money clip and have searched for decent replacement. I did find one that was $30 but lost that too.Not wanted to risk another $30 I bought this. It works even if I only have a few bills in it. I'm not trying to use it for credit cards just loose pocket money. It holds even a couple bills tight.

Money clips are useful for people who like to keep their wallets slim and spare. These days I seem to be getting more and more $1 bills in change, and they just accumulate; so I bought a money clip. Now, you can get the same effect with a spring clip (various sizes available from Staples or Office Depot, cheap in quantity), but where's the style? This product is a single-lever type, which I think is not as easy to use as a two-lever type, but that's a personal preference. This particular money clip is handsome and functional, and works exactly as it should, although it does not hold a large number of bills. If you like the design and the gold-colored finish, then this could be for you.

Got tired of magnetic clips which are difficult to open, so tried this one. Not only is it easy to grasp and open, but when closed, it really holds onto your money. Totally satisfied, and no cosmetic problem, as others have reported. One caveat: when you insert your folded bills, you don't need to push them all the way back into the clip. When you close the clip, it will move the bills back, as it clamps down on them. Very secure~

I bought this to replace a simple stainless steel one, that I bought overseas. Was very happy to find this same design, as I thought it was great.This item has a weird rainbow coloring effect when viewed with fluorescent lights, for some reason. Makes it look like it needs a cleaning.After 2-3 weeks of use, I noticed it wasn't holding my bills any more, and found a crack in the main spine that ran most of the way across.I'm sending for a replacement, but the return shipping costs more than the original purchase price. I wasn't thrilled with the price of this (compared to the previous one I had), and now that I'm in for return shipping, I'm less happy!
