Improved functionality
These are a huge improvement over the factory grips. They fill the bizarre gap behind the trigger guard and fits the hand quite well. I'm more accustomed to textured rubber grips, or checkering, but the smooth finish isn't unpleasant. These are probably better suited to a lower recoil N frame, like a S&W 28, but might not give the purchase you'd want for a S&W 29.If I have one complaint, the images do not show that the front strap of the grip has a cut out which exposes the frame. The edges of this window aren't radiused and it leaves an odd void. I'm sure many buyers will be unhappy to discover this, but for my purposes, it's not a deal breaker.

Greatly reduced the pain from magnum recoil. The lower profile just below the trigger guard, greatly reduces the recoil impact to the middle finger.

Nice Grip Size & Shape, Poor Fit in One Area
Doesn't fit the tang/backstrap of my Model 29-2. The backstrap sticks out from the grips toward the bottom.Edit: I've contacted Hogue and they are going to look into doing some custom work to improve the fit. Will update when I know more.
