... of an expert but for the price it was wonderful for what I needed
I'm not much of an expert but for the price it was wonderful for what I needed. Not too much of an investment if it did turn out bad. It seemed durable from its construction. Mine came in good order, but after a while of having it and dropping it lots of times, something seems to have gotten loose and thats when the focus problems began. The range I could see before was gone, and now I could only focus on stuff close by.My fault though, just make sure that if you do get one that works to take care of it, they are optics after all. Also if you have one that can't seem to focus on long distances, then it may already be damaged from shipping or the manufacturer,

Low-priced and alright quality but obviously not great
I wanted to get a low-priced binocular/monocular to place in my car and use in case I'm driving somewhere new and the road signs are hard to read. I settled upon this model because it was small and budget-priced.The monocular comes with a small, black carrying pouch. The monocular itself has a circular string to place around your neck. There's also a small, yellow cloth to clean the lens. The item is made of standard quality rubber and is small and convenient to carry around. The lens itself is of decent quality. The image is clear enough but not super-sharp. The 10x magnification is enough for my purposes. There is no zooming feature; just a focusing ring that can be adjusted between +/0/-.The monocular tends to stay focused when I leave the ring on "0". Overall this is a decent monocular that is budget-priced and does what it is supposed to do. If you are looking for something with good zooming, then look elswhere.

Barska Monocular
THE SKINNY: Great monocular. Not sure why they called it a "monocular binocular" in the title, but that's forgivable. Honestly, this little guy is great. First of all, the item operates flawlessly. Clear optics, adjustable focus, and rubber armor. Secondly, it even comes with a cheesy belt pouch and a neck lanyard. (Both of which I refuse to use and rather holster it in a pistol mag pouch attached to the strap of my hiking pack.) For ten bucks?! I would have been willing to pay twice as much for an item like this, had I been looking at it in a store.PROS:Excellent View, Great Light IntakeRubber Armor Means Clumsy-ProofAdjustable FocusCONS:NoneHonestly, price aside, I would still recommend this product. It works especially well for hikers like me who just want to carry the bare minimum in weight. Great product and even better price. Barska hasn't let me down yet (3 for 3).

Great bang for the buck.
The Monocular functions as promised. You can't beat the price either. It doesn't feel cheap and the materials are of surprising high quality compared that it only cost me $7's to purchase. I use it for hiking and love its low weight and profile compared to a full set of binoculars. Does the job.

Convenient
It's okay...does help some, but in this case the old adage, "you get what you pay for" applies. As a positive, it is convenient and light weight due to its size.

Monocular
Came as described. Not the best quality, but at the price it was worth it. Recommend for games or watching birds.

Cheap don’t buy
It’s cheap and the glass is foggy but what do you expect for the price

No zoom
Poor optical field and no zoom capability. Too little product for too much cost. I would recommend trying a different type if you are going to use in the field for hunting.

Disappointing.
I know Barska are inexpensive low end scopes made in China for other companies, including Tasco and some Bushnell, but I thought buying a known brand optic would get me value for money. Well, imagine my surprise when it didn't! I should have guessed a 10x25 monocular for less that £15 wouldn't match up to my expectation and it didn't. On first look the build quality seemed ok, but as soon as I looked into into it, there was the the annoying 'halo' effect all around the view. On focusing, it was very difficult to get a sharp crisp picture and constant twiddling of the focus became irritating. I then pulled out the old trusty Eurohike 8x25 £5.99er from GoOutdoors I've used for years for a comparison and that was a lot better with a much clearer view. Focusing on near, middle and far objects, the extra magnification seemed to make little if no difference to the 8x25 either. I should have learnt by now, you get what you pay for and if it seems to good to be true, it obviously is. Shame.

For the money they are decent, small, and quite useable
This is a decent, for the money, monocular. Far from the best and also not the cheapest it gets the job done when you don't need one several times a day or even every day. It is light weight, easy to hold onto because of the rubberized sleeve, and not bad optics. There is some distortion at the outer edges but this is a sub $25.00 item. If you want sharp and clear viewing, then there are several options that are well worth the money for high end equipment.I purchased these to have in our vehicles and ended up buying more so that I could pack one into our BOB's. Like others I have found that there are times when they will fog but that's the trade-off of a low cost item. I’ve used them when just out day hiking and in the city watching raft races as well as many other activities that require long off viewing. I’m happy to have paid what I did for them and that I have them when needed. The dioptre has good range and actually works. I own a few pieces of Barska optics for rifles, again it was a trade-off for the lower cost that had me buying them, and I’ve found that most Barska made optics have some kind of deficiency.Over all I’m ok with them as I don’t use them often and when I’ve needed them they work adequately.

great pocket mono
Perfect unit when you need to travel light. I found the optics a little bit soft ( the reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5) but overall a good item and great price.
