Abstract designs, ok quality
The barrel on mine is a little warped, so I decided to just push on and roll the barrel instead of using the handles, which worked ok. Pretty abstract carvings, very difficult to tell what they are, but I can tell you that 1 design looked totally inappropriate to take to my son's school. I would just throw that dough back with the trimmings and roll it out again. I wish there was a guide to what they're supposed to be.

If you bake cookies for Christmas, this is a nice treat
I've always wanted to make Springerle, and finally treated myself with an Amazon birthday gift card. Very happy I did. There is a larger model, but I'm glad I got this one. Since you need to roll out the dough a bit at a time, the smaller one is easier to work with. The cookies were beautiful (and delicious). In the age of those horrible chemical-based cookies people make from mixes (or slice and bake), these really make an impression. As a side note, I did not make traditional Springerle (not everyone likes anise), but made a Springerle Shortbread recipe from King Arthur Flour.

Good but not perfect
Arrived on time and as described. The designs carved into the rolling pin were a bit repetitive (not all were different) and the carving was a bit rough. Not like the one which has been in the family for years and has been passed down, but what is these days?

It works
Kind of small for springerles but works

Springerle rolling pin
I have used the rolling pin twice and both times it performed very well. I was used to using wooden molds; therefore it took some practice on my part to use the pin effectively. The pin. However, did just what it was made to do.

Springerle rolling pin
My husband is from Germany and wanted to make springerle, I ordered this and got it within two days. It did a nice job. we let the cookies dry overnight before we baked them and the design was very good.

The rolling pin arrived on time and is perfect for cookies.
I have not used the rolling pin as yet, but am looking forward to it. It arrived in time for Christmas as it was a Christmas present to myself. The carvings are nice and deep and the patterns are really nice. Can't wait to make a batch of cookies and try it out.

Needs initial prep. Design is weird.
Requires just a bit of sanding with an emory board before initial use. Thing I don't like are the designs. Looks like weird worms. More traditional pins were quite expensive.
