It’s better for the pursues if sliding. It helps to not to slip. It cushions but not as much as an insole. I bought it for my sandals. I recommend this product for this issue.

These airplus gel forefoot steppies are the best! They are larger than you can usually find in a store.Your foot can easily slip into a shoe with these because of the smooth surface on top. The bottom has a sticky adhesive that make it easy to remove or adjust the steppies.Walmart use to carry them but not anymore. I am so glad I could find them thru Amazon.

My wife already have tried this once and it works for her. The retail store don't sell this product any more so I tried on-line purchase. This product I believe is discontinued.

These are wonderful - I put them in all my shoes

LOVED a set of these on my wedge sandals for many years!These pads stopped me sliding forward and 'thru' the toe opening of my open toe sandals. I had to search to find the identical replacements as they don't appear under searches such as: 'ball-of-foot gel', etc. but they do appear under 'steppies', which isn't quite as helpful. They are litterally twice the size of the Dr.Scholls product intended for the same purpose, that I first ordered, and 5 times the size of the little silicone strips meant for just your toes to grip (& that peel and slide all over the place quickly). If you don't want to slip in your heeled shoes these worked wonders for me and lasted for ages.
