Great Book
We used this book in teaching my son sign language and he was able to see the picture and mimic the signs all on his own. We used it as a guide and then realized he was teaching it to himself just as effectively as we were just in "reading" this book with him. Highly recommend this book and teaching/using sign language starting at about 9 months old. It helped with communicating during difficult baby stages. Our son had many less temper tantrums than other kids his age and we believe it was due to teaching sign language. The sign we highly recommend is teaching the "help" sign. Whenever he would get frustrated he would sign for help and he would know we would do the best to figure out what he needed.

Toddler loves it!
My toddler loves this book. She sits and practices her signs without any prompting.I can’t say whether all the signs are correct ASL (because I’m still learning), but they work for us. I do wish the ones with more movement showed more pictures. But overall, it’s been a big hit!

Best of the sign language board books
I looked at a number of different sign language board books before choosing this one. I couldn't be more pleased with my choice. I like that this book had photographs, rather than just drawings. Research supports the importance of showing children photographs, rather than just illustrations. I also like the book explains to parents how to form the signs! My toddler and I took a baby sign language class and I use baby signs with him consistently. He "reads" this book to himself all the time! I plan to buy the others in the series.

Great book for babies and parents!
I already owned this book for my son, who has a hearing loss, when he was a baby and decided to buy it as a 1st birthday gift for a friend's child. Book is perfect for looking at with your babies of any age to teach them basic American Sign Language. The pictures are colorful and include a child or person demonstrating the sign, as well as the written word and description of the motion. Great book for children! All of the books in this series are wonderful.

Important book for Down Syndrome Child
Our granddaughter has Down Syndrome; she loves learning from this book. An adult needs to show it to them, and teach them the proper motions, very educational and helpful!

Found this book at the home of a child with a tracheostomy and ordered it for my neighbor who waspicking up her adopted twins from Bosnia. They took the book with them and it helped the non english speaking children adjust to coming to america.

Great signing book for babies
Nice board book for little hands. We used this book for both of our kids and they loved looking at the pictures of the kids signing and easily picked up the signs themselves. We continue to buy copies of this book to give as baby gifts.
