Madder Root Powder
I'm going to use the cheaper dye to experiment with shibori before I use the good stuff. I can't wait to use it. I love the color and can't wait to see what kind of fun experimental dyeing I end up with!

i found this stuff to be completely useless as a dye
i found this stuff to be completely useless as a dye....coffee,tea or blood makes a much darker color. just get some rit dye cheaper , easier, and richer color

Did not work well in my soap
This is my first madder root. It looks red but in my handcrafted soap it turned brown, which was not what I wanted

Soap Making, Pinkish or Red
I started soap making as a hobby and found that others liked my soaps. I wanted to take a more natural approach to coloring soap and found a list that included a lot of natural colorants you can use. Madder root is used to dye many things, but during the process of soap making it turns the soap pinkish/brick red color.Coming from India, some of the best quality natural dyes come from here, I felt safe to order a quality, pure product. The package arrived when expected and it was well packaged. I will add that it was packaged very well and professional. I was excited to get it into a soap base and begin to test it for the color or colors I was looking for. It was so exciting to do a couple small batches and test them for color. It came in a container that was sealed and taped. After measuring, this is something you need to test for yourself, I completed my first batch. Some of these natural bases need to be added to a carrier oil such as olive oil, and that needs to be subtracted from your batch weights of oils. But after a few small batches, I found a few concentrations that I liked and added them to a few recipes.... Perfection, the quality is bar none the best!!!

Using for a natural soap colorant.
Haven't used it yet but it looks true to color and I am planning to use as a natural colorant in soap.
