Orizaba Original is proud to offer the best Baja Hoodies you can buy, at the low prices you expect. Originating in Mexico’s cold mountain regions, Baja hoodies have been around for decades as an inexpensive clothing item made from old clothing and other fabrics. Our classic drug rugs are no different - they’re made from 100% recycled material. Sizes are true to USA Men's standards, so if you're a woman please buy a size down. If you prefer an extra baggy fit or you'll wear your Baja pullover over more than just a t-shirt or other shirt, go a size up! These hippie ponchos protect you from the elements, and also have a soft, brushed interior. They’re perfect for any occasion, from taking a hike, to relaxing by the beach, or lounging at home. Baja hoodies were first brought home to California by surfers traveling to find perfect, deserted waves on the rugged coastline of the Mexican state of Baja California. From there, the low cost, durability, and exceptional comfort that's perfect for almost any climate have led Bajas (or "Drug Rugs" as they often called in jest) to become a staple of various counterculture and subculture fashions worldwide. From surf, skate, snow, and other lovers of the outdoors to musicians and other artists and creative types, there's nobody who doesn't love these! Sometimes these hoodies are mistakenly called "ponchos", which isn't exactly right because ponchos are a slightly different material, and they don't have sleeves. In Mexico they typically call this type of sweatshirt a "sudadera de jerga", referring to the often recycled material, or a "canguro", referring to the signature front pocket or "kangaroo pouch". As time passed people started to call them many different names, and they all stuck! So whether you hear someone call it a Mexican sweater or a Baja Hoodie or even a hippie pullover just know that they are all right, so you can call it what you want to call it... just make sure you pick the best color!

Awesome! I want one in every color!
Most Awesome Baha jacket I have ever felt! The fleece linning is so soft and so is the yarn used for the weaving! These are large! I'm a female size 16-18 top. 42DD cheat so I ordered an XXL.Woopsey!... That size would fit a 300lb man...with really long arms.I recommend you very carefully order 2 to 3x's smaller than you think you need.Great product, great price. Requested exchange. Easy return and fast shipping!

XXL Measurements:
XXL measured chest and waist: 28 inches across. Shoulder top to bottom: 33 inches down. Arm pit to bottom: 19 inches down. Sleeve pit to cuff: 22.5 inches across. (Very close to their posted size chart.) Very comfy and warm. I like the hoodie. Nice colors. Soft on the inside. No nasty smell. Sleeves are pretty long, but can be rolled up a bit. I am 6 feet tall, about 240 pounds. Hoodie is pretty loose, which I like. I have about 3 inches of spare room across the chest and hips. XL would probably fit me, as well. Fast shipping: The hoodie arrived the day after I purchased it. May buy an XL just to see if it fits. Recommended.

OUTSTANDING BAJA! THE BEST!
I first encountered the rasta baja pullover while learning to surf in Baja, Mexico. Since those early days, I have surfed all over the world, from the Gold Coast in Australia, Oahu in Hawaii, Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, to the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia (Bali is too crowded and polluted these days!). After a full day of surfing, there is the inevitable beach bonfire and a baja is always welcome. I’ve literally gone through about a hundred bajas in my life, but these are some of the very best I’ve ever worn! I’m over six feet tall and have some muscle, and these are the only bajas that will fit someone as big as I am. They are well sewn, so you needn’t worry about things coming apart at the seems. I’ll definitely buy more bajas from this company, as they have an outstanding pullover.

Nice baja definitely cold water wash & dry (Bought the red one)
I am very happy with the shipping. It came super fast. It's nice looking. Came in a double sealed plastic bag & had a bit of a chemical smell & feel. It absolutely has to be washed prior to being worn. The product tag says cold water wash & cool dry. Based on the tag & some of the other reviews, I suspect cold water washing this Baja should be taken seriously. My dryer only does warm. I ended up taking it out & hanging it up fearing the warm tumble might damage it. On arrival in a couple areas had a couple loose white fibers poking through that kind of stand out through the red color. I was not too happy about loose wool threads on something I just bought, but it's a cool looking Baja & I'll live with it. There are small rope like things from the collar, they are sewn on, definitely not drawstrings for the hood. I'm not sure why the rope things are there. All in all I'm happy with the Baja, it seems warm and good for cold nights on the beach.

Very happy!!!
My son wanted one of these hoodies so bad, so we looked all over Amazon and read review after review and finally decided on this one. He got the black and white one. He just turned 13, and is on the smaller size for his age. Probably 4’ 10”ish and about 75-80lb. Skinny and short. He ordered an adult small. It is a little big, plenty of room to grow in to, but not way too big where he can’t wear it. It’s perfect. The quality is very good. We haven’t had any issues with it shedding strings like I read on reviews for other ones. I’ve seen one string on the floor. The inside is super soft. That was the first thing he said about it when he first put it on. We haven’t washed it yet just because he put it on straight out of the package and hasn’t taken it off long enough since...gross I know but who cares lol. So we are very happy with this purchase!

Great fit and stylish!
I live in Florida so there are a lot of opportunities to wear a hoodie but wouldn't you the first cold front went through with temps in the mid 60's in the morning. I was excited to wear my hoodie and loved it! I'm 5'9" and 150 lbs and the medium fit perfectly. However, if I were designing it I'd make the sleeves a couple of inches longer so you can get your hands in there. I think I'm going to get a couple more!

Perfect Fit
These hoodies are in fact "true to [American] size".. I wear an XL men's shirt, so I ordered an XL hoodie, and it fits perfectly -- it is baggy as you would want with this type of hoodie, and its length goes just past the waistline.. It is baggy just enough to make it super cozy, and not constricting in fit at all.. The arm length is a little long, but one simple roll-up solves that issue.. I ordered the Frisco Disco color scheme and I love it!.. The company followed up my purchase with an email containing instructions on how to wash and care for this hoodie.. Great company!!.. I hope to order from them again..But ONE DRAWBACK: the brushed interior, which produces the fleece-like effect, makes the hoodie too warm.. Back in the day, you could wear these types of hoodies on a cool summer evening.. The current trend of brushing the material makes them too warm.. Keep in mind, this style of hoodie originated on the beaches of Mexico.. (I got my first baja in the early '80s from Tijuana, and I could wear it on a cool midwestern summer night; that's saying a lot about the versatility that is currently lost with the fleecing effect)..

NOT Free Shipping
The hoodie itself seems pretty nice, if you’re willing to pay the remainder postage for what you bought. Mine was shipped to me originally with a“Media Mail” sticker by USPS, which is only for CDs and whatnot, and clothing isn’t covered by that label, meaning only $3 of the total $10 was paid for by the manufacturer, so I had to go out and pick up my package at the post office and pay $7 and change for it. This could’ve just been a one time accident but Buyer Beware.

Very comfy. Good quality.
I got one that was incorrectly made and too short. Orizaba have emailed me to say I'd get a full refund no problem.
