The Final Kingdom: Tombquest, Book 5

Delivery was great and my nephew is happy!

I am a 45 year old mom. I read the first book to help my son with a boom report. Fell in love. Bought the rest and just finished them all. Great series. Hard to put down. Great for all age groups.

Book 5 and the other four all arrived in time for my grandson's birthday and was just what he wanted! :) Thank you.

The Final KingdomTombquest4/5 StarsThe last chapter of the Tombquest saga, this promises the final battle between good and evil, life and death. But with Alex and his friends and family in the hands of The Order and an army of the dead advancing on civilization, the hope of success is very low.Okay, this didn't hold up to the rest of the books for a couple of reasons. One, it had some editing problems. When my reading partner, who is the approximate age this series is geared at, was picking up on editing missteps, that was a red flag. Secondly, it felt overwhelmingly rushed towards the finale and then, it just happened. Like all this buildup and then it was just over. It did tie up the ends very well, but it fell a bit flat for the end of a series.Now, with that said, I enjoyed parts immensely. Like, I loved the part where they were trying to distract the crocodiles, it was fun. I also liked when it came to the ultimate decision. And, they brought back my favorite character! Oh yeah!I enjoyed the wrap-up of the saga and am trying to get my reader into another series cause it was fun partner reading. This was an engaging read that will be a great introduction to young readers to ancient myths of other cultures, spark that interest.

This book was pre-ordered on the request of my 11 year old son. He loves this book series and is bummed this is the last book.
